Downsouth, see the prices for Swift Lxi in Chennai before change, after change & price cut

*just now checked with dealer and still they dont have new rates. I will post these once I get this tomorrow morning.
But sales guy told that they will be passing benefits to customer for all vehicles in their current inventory , not only for new booking.
Friends, Do you know how to calculate insurance premium & road tax ? Is there any fixed % which is proportionate to ex showroom price.

road tax differs from state to state. For ex. in Hyd, it is 9% of the ex showroom price.
insurance is 3.5% of the ex showroom price of the car for the first year.
This is a good news. As per TOI, Tata mentioned that he will pass-on the entire reduction to the cusotomers. I think they will do it for the entire range they have.
In my opinion, the best time would be to buy a car somewhere in march-april next year. I am hoping a further reduction on auto prize during the budget season. Congress wouldn't let this chance go away.

other than Insurance, Road tax, there will usually be Registration charges(RTO), Essential Pack, Handling Charges. if going for Finance, then a Processing Fee, Stamp Duty. So it depends on your dealership as well.

Any news of how much price TATA has cut and on what models?
Finally Honda also have reduced the prices. See rediff report below.

I was reading about huge, unsold car inventories with the dealers all over India. The cenvat on these cars have been paid at the old rates (@ 4% plus) by the dealers, which were picked up from the factories.Now the dealers are asking the manufacturers to bear the extra 4 % that they have paid up before midnight of 7th-8th Dec 2008. Most manufacturers are in no mood to bear it.
I am not sure but there must be some mechanism to get cenvat refunds from the Customs and Central Excise Department, much like the Income tax refund we are entitled to, when we pay income tax in excess than the stipulated, by filing IT returns

You are right. These duties are paid at time the vehicle leaves factory – so in effect the dealer inventories will not get this benefit. Normally the manufacturers will absorb this incase of small inventories – but bigger inventories may have to be dealt on case basis. I also do not think they wil get refund on duties paid in earlier regime.
I am getting 3.94 + Accessories onroad Noida Price for i10 Kappa Magna 1.2 Metallic.

Just checked Chandigarh swift price on maruti website, and they have come down real good. VDI was costing around 5.21 lakhs before which is now costing 4.99 Lakhs. Good news for all.
Just wanted to know, that if a person books swift today and its waiting period is 5-6 months, will he still get the car in today's price?

So, does this mean that the dealer will try to push the inventory at the prices prior to the cenvat reduction? Also, take a hyothetical situation where the duties would have risen- at that instance, the customer is expected to pay the increased amount(at the time of delivery).

spoke with a guy at manipal.
As per him, after CENVAT the price for 4*4 VX is 14 Lakhs, LX is 8 lakhs 9683 thousand, 4*2 EX is 10 lakhs 432.
not sure if they reduced or increased as I dont have the old figures :)
Also, these prices are on-road prices
