Even if it is a heavily-built thing with a sound-proof surround, like miniature version of the ones you see outside offices? I'm not seriously in the market for one --- although I might have been if the market hadn't crashed!

But it is interesting, anyway...

The Honda 6KVa ia around a lakh?

Yeah, even my 1993 M-1000 was registered as a 10 HP in the RC.

Well, I picked up the card so I guess it must have been them. There was a stall with some ICE (so I was wrong to say there was none at all), some shelves with performance filters and exhaust parts, that sort of thing: not really my sort of stuff, but they gave me a leaflet and card as I wandered through yesterday.

Just checked out their site --- and wondered about letting them have a look at the numerous small scratches on my Swift instead of (eventually: it was weeks ago that I posted asking for recommendations) getting a full paint job.

Please don't ship the red cleaner: you can wave it for identification at the next show so I can recognise you!

I don't know about this HP thing... even electric motors were, and still are(?), rated by horse-power, so I don't think it related to the capacity of the engine in cc, but was always a measure of power produced, not how it was produced. We always use to talk about horse-power, then woke up one day to find everyone talking brake-horse-power.

Can't remember how engine capacity was rated pre-metric. Back in 1950-something, us Brits were so insular about this sort of thing that we barely knew what a litre was! <Blush, shame> But I don't remember anyone having, for example, a 3-pint engine!

brraj --- you're welcome; just happened to be in the right place at the right time with the right pile of brochures!

<later>According to Wikipedia, "RAC Horsepower is based solely on the dimensions of a piston engine (1 litre of engine displacement is equal to 10 RAC horsepower)". There seem to be as many different kinds of horsepower as there are horses. Wikipedia page here.

Good coverage of the usual suspects Nick. The Amby is tricked well. Maybe HM can get feedback from amby enthusiasts & rework its portfolio
