This is a very good way to understand who the real ad creators are.

Not the first time MSIL has fallen into these kinda lows. Why should they do these kinda cheap gimmicks?
Sad. Very sad.

Looks like no Car makers visit T=BHP,

What would happen if they see the way we tear down each product launched and compare it with other cars.

Pavan, given how low some (if not the manufacturers themselves, at least the individual dealers do) of them can stoop down, they may actually pride themselves in getting a discussion started and hog the limelight at whatever cost At least gives them publicity for free during these cash crunched times

Welcome move by Honda.

Con job mustn't go unpunished. Misleading public isn't done.

How can a reputed company like Maruti just quote wrong figures so that their product stands out? This is no different from fudging resumes.

that ad between a-star and i 10 is completely false.

it says that kappa engine is superior to kb-series engine?
wth? kappa produces 78 bhp, not 66bhp as mentioned in ad. that's what 1.1l irde engine produces.

it also claims that i 10 has no stereo, abs and airbags? maruti? are you awake?
go and see the i 10 sportz and asta and then you compare your a star.

was msil trying to compare a-star with i 10 kappa or i 10 irde?

Come to think of it, comparison against a competitor is what sells the product, as long as the facts are complete/correct.

In US most of the ads have mudslinging statements, Dunkin Vs Starbucks and AT&T Vs Warner being the recent Ive seen.

All the comparisons are hilarious.
Download the image, zoom it and read.
(Clicked from phone camera, quality not that good).
Did not expect this standard of promotion from Maruti Suzuki!!

- A Star: attractive and appealing; i10: shrewd and evil!
- Kappa: Heavier engine that gives less fuel efficiency!
- Finally, offensive but funny! (also note the 'i' in the toon!):

Although the extent of damages are different, but in principle fudging is fudging. Be it Mr Raju or be it Maruti or one of its dealers

Actually its the dealers that manage to come out with these ads. When Santro ( the original one and ) and Santro Zip ( Power Steering ) came out, Hyundai was at the peak of offering these ads.
At that time Ford was selling 1.3 Ikon ( not Rocam ) and there was an add " Santro ends Ikon's Josh ".

Then again it was Maruti against Hyundai. The companies were not directly responsible for this, but the culprits were dealers. To any extent they go to claim that what they have is the best for us.
I even read Getz as ECOTY 2002, but in reality it was Peugeot 307.

I think Honda may get some compensation if the things get more ugly. But we do need to understand Maruti may not be having a hand in this. And this misleading is more pronounced at the dealership.

I hope that Maruti takes appropriate action against the dealer if its dealer's action that invited this notice. Inadvertently this affects overall image and the dealers must come of narrow thinking.

Any publicity is good publicity!

No pun intended in the subject .

None of these legal notices will hurt either company. Worst case they will just pay their way out - there are plenty of loopholes out there. The end result will be more attention to ANHC and SX4.

Even Fiesta is advertising that it `leaves the City far behind'. The top of mind association is with the Honda City though it can also mean the `city'.

Honda feeling the Linea Heat....

Talk about Honda slamming a notice to SX4, and they seem to be reciprocating to Linea on same lines..

check todays TOI advt on new Honda City - "Enjoy the Admiration"

Wondering why doesnt Honda respond with adding new features to ANHC to compete with Linea rather than fighting on with "Admiration Guaranteed - Linea"

heheh.... Maruti, Hyundai, Ford all tried to move Honda and shake City sales... and look who managed to give them a threat... FIAT

I will still stand by my other post - Honda needs to get all features of ANHC in Thailand and then let the car speak!
