My whole post could be OT, but just look at this picture!

I had one of those rare opportunities to work on the website of FORD, specializing on concept cars and autoshows. Here I came across a car that has not been on the Road yet, but I am still mesmerized whenever i look up this picture.

Quality or not, they still got some engineering left in them

I ignore many cars (not their behaviour) on the road but I can never stop ogling at a Mercedes Benz E250D (the W124 version). That car has a timeless elegance and the best road presence of all.

My List of cars with road presence in the order of merit:
At International Level :
1.Rolls Royce
2.Aston Martin
3.Bently Flying Spur
4.Mercedes SLR Mclaren
5.Ferrari Spyder

National Level :
1.Porsche Carrera
2.Maruti Swift (often they are modded)
3.Mitsubishi Lancer (Often they are modded too....)
4.Mitsubishi Pajero (Now with Vibrant colours)
5.OHC

How about the Skoda RS especially in Yellow

I feel Chevy Captiva is one among good. It's road presence is excellent.

FIAT Palio S10/1.6Sports (Canary Yellow) - amazing road presence and people are willing to take photos of themselves with the car. I once experienced it in Nandi Hills Bangalore. Moreover every one envy the car. It got the macho looks..

The first sonata had this 'Royal' feel to it on the road...with light tinted glass, multispoke wheels, it showed some kind of 'elegance' on the road. Because of its size, most people drove it very slow in the city limits, adding to its 'presence'.

Most of the cars are attractive, most people get excited on seeing one, no doubt, but very few have their 'presence' felt

in hatches- the i20- terrific stance and presence.
sedans- the Audi A4- clean and beautiful proportions
SUVs- the Endy and Safari
imports- RR Phantom

IMO, the following cars have some the best road presence.
Indian Cars:

Hatchbacks : Swift ( even today attracts a little bit of attention and the number of modifications one can do is almost endless ).

Sedans C/C+ segment (upto Rs. 10 lakh ) : G3HC.

Sedans Rs. 10-15 lakh : Corolla Altis and Skoda Laura.

Sedans Rs. 15-30 Lakh : Toyota Camry.

Sedans Rs. 30 Lakh+ : Audi A4, Merc E-class, Merc S-class.

SUV : Scorpio, Safari, LandCruiser.

Okay I am slightly confused with the "road presence" being dicussed here. I think there are 2 aspects to it.

1: The car that makes you go "awweee.." the moment you see it on your RVM. Say an angel-eyes Civic or the Beemer 5.

2: Say you are a biker, and the car behind honks. You see the size of the car, and with no second thoughts make way.

If it's the 1st, then any modified/bling car could make it to the list. But if its the 2nd, then I am still wondering how come no one mentions the SX4.. along with the Safari/Endy.

Sorry for my incomprehensive English there. I meant when people can talk about the Safari/Endy then why not the SX4 stupid:

But the 2nd point I mentioned is of course through experience. Not many cars that I used to give way while zipping on my P180. The SX4, well is a different story :)

I don't. I give way based on the traffic situation and the reason for the person behind honking.

The Opel Vectra had a very good road presence.
