Today, when i was driving toward college in Bandra, i noticed a VW hoarding near the Bandra recl. flyover. The hoarding had half of Jetta cut out.Only the rear half could be seen. There was something written below which i couldn't read properly as i was driving. "Coming soon" is all that i could read. What could be the next launch from VW?
I'll try taking a pic of the hoarding tommorow and will surely post here.
If anyone else has spotted the same then plz share.

The Jetta wagon i suppose...

Maybe the Polo is gonna come sooner than thought of.

Lets hope it's the RS version of the Jetta

In all probability the Jetta Wagon. I could spot the Jetta SportWagen and Passat Wagon on the US website. Check this Jetta Features & Specs

But then why, after the not so good sales of the Octi stationwagon.

Guessing it will be the newer Volkswagen Golf,,

If its a stationwagon, then why show the rear half ? They should be showing the front half and keeping the rear under wraps.

i guess and hope for golf. it'll be nice and superior hatch.

Even I saw it somewhere don't remember but couldn't read it completely since the car was moving.
I saw the word "Depreciation".

It was something like "Depreciation is just one part" or something similar.

And I don't think its a Wagon or Hatch because the rear pic was shown.

May be a new Engine?

I really dont see the rationale behind launching the golf hachback. Its not going got be cheap(not below 7 lakhs).I think thay should either launch the golf sedan at around 10 lakhs odd or launch the Polo.Nothing mentioned in their website though.

Should be the Polo/Golf Sedan which was rumoured to be coming out to give competition to Linea/Verna/Fiesta/Aveo/ANHC and likes.

VW is surely taking the Indian market very seriously and this surely is a good sign.
Now if only they start their plant soon to get more localization and lower prices and spares.

somehow i feel VW is giving skoda the step motherly treatment.
They somehow want to reduce the brand value of the skoda and increase its own.
even though jetta and the laura is the same platform they are giving the jetta priority.

VW India is working towards a 2010 timeframe. Thats when, company officials are looking at the polo launch.

Anthym is correct that its not a station wagon. Even if they come out with one, they will price it high.

I dont know about the plans of VW, but they are too late to enter the market in the first place. Then weak products, and now this. There is no specific time line for this launch, but I expect it to be around March as the hoarding has come up.

What can we expect :
1) If polo is coming, by no menas they can charge more than Rs. 8-8.5 lakh.
2) Good engines. One diesel and one petrol might work, but the diesel must not be those PD. The diesel has to be Crdi with good performance. Look how Verna is and how it has managed to survive on diesel motors.
3) Spare prices must be what they are, spare parts. They must not cost a new small car.

Apart from these the usual service network and quality of A.S & S. needs to improve.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Jetta the sedan version of the Golf? So we have it already. Perhaps the front of the Jetta is going to get a facelift to match the new generation Golf.

I'm hoping for either the Polo or the Golf, and hopefully VW will also provide a quick petrol engine to go along with the usual combo of one tiny petrol engine and one frugal diesel engine.
