Sorry to bump an old thread but I just heard from Toyota they don't sell the CNG Innova any more. Was told by the dealer in response to a web query that Toyota doesn't sell any model with a CNG kit.

If one really needs the petrol Innova, one has to pay upfront, wait a few months, take delivery and then get the car converted yourself by an outside vendor.

Amazing thing is if one types Innova CNG in google it take you to a page on Toyota's India website showing the benefits of the CNG version. You'd think they'd be smart enough to remove pages from their official site when they discontinue a model.

This is the right news.

A friend of mine contacted Toyota here in Hyderabad they were not ready to give any information about the CNG variant. No idea about the petrol variant here as it is extinct as 99% of the sales are diesel.

Not many pumps here are properly equppied to fill in CNG as there is a LONG rush for CNG filling of autos and RTC buses.

Anurag.

I have seen a decent number of petrol Innovas in Delhi-NCR running around as taxis, of course after conversion to CNG. May be Toyota did not find enough takers for the factory-fitted CNG kits at the 85,000/- premium.

With the markets changing now, it would have made sense for a certain someone to pickup a CNG'ed version of the Innova. Why?

- No diesel clatter
- Economical than a diesel (May not hold true for the cabbies however, for the sethji who wishes to travel in comfort for the limited 100 kms a day he does in his chaffeur driven vehicle)
- Warranty stays intact.

Well, just dew days ago, came across one thread where a bhp-ian's friend needed an absolutely silent vehicle. This would have made perfect sense to him :D. Man, had he decided about this, long back in 09 lol:
