I do understand that quote of 3.1L is not correct but I never discussed this with MUL dealer further and I do understand that it should be somewhere between 3.5 to 3.7. But not sure abt. 3.9 with swift available from 4L on road.

In Chennai the base version on road cost Rs.4.33 Lakhs, not sure about Mumbai.

The fact is that there are buyers who does not know about the specification & pricing of Swift (or even launch) & just want to goahead and buy Santro because one of his relative/friend using Santro has recommended it.

Re: How fast does the value of a new car depreciate over a few years?

2016
The moment you drive your new car off the lot, it will depreciate by as much as 11 percent of its value.
Every car undergoes depreciation but a used car has an upper hand for the same when compared to a new car. It depreciates at a slower rate when compared to a brand new car.
