Price cut by Hyundai on Santro

Hyundai has announced price cut upto Rs.19000 on thier various lower end models of Santro. Also they have introduced non-ac version of Santro xing XK. I really wonder whether there will be any takers for this non-ac version.

Also they are offering discounts close to Rs.60000/- on their XP models.

Yes, I had read about this in todays paper. There are going to be price cuts even on the corsa sail.

But what surprised me is that Hyundai says there will not be any price cuts on the getz. I would have thought that the getz would be a direct competitor to the swift and they would have reduced prices on that too.

The marketing team at Hyundai thinks they are too smart. Their first reaction to Swift was its a competitor to the Santro and not to the Getz. Actually, Swift's pull for Santro customers is bad news as there were not many takers for the over priced Getz anyway and Santro is their bread and butter model.

Ok so Hyundai has responded by price cuts. Any idea on what MUL has done to make sure that the swift does not eat into the sales of the WagonR??

Time to XIng

XP has the older engine if i am not wrong. Well its just a matter of time Hyundai will cut price on its Getz as well and Maruti will also cut WagonR and Zen prices for sure.

Whatever happens the winner will be us the costumers..

Edit:- also the hyundai site says that all variants of Santro has ABS??

Quoting from
http://www.santroxing.com/santromain...agename=safety

The new Santro Xing is the only compact car in India to offer the world class Antilock Braking System (ABS) as an option on all trims. A safety standard across the world, the ABS prevents wheel lock during sudden braking maneuvers, thereby preventing the vehicle from skidding and allows the driver to remain in control of the vehicle, no matter how slippery the surface.

Prices for DELHI

Model Price (Rs.)
XL (Metallic) 3,46,600
XL (Metallic) 3,49,973
XL (Solid) 3,45,999
XL (Solid) 3,42,625
XL ABS (Metallic) 3,61,601
XL ABS (Metallic) 3,64,973
XL ABS (Solid) 3,60,999
XL ABS (Solid) 3,57,625

Which means ABS is optional on all models..
And XP is discontinued (replaced by XL)..

Montoya, XP came with the same engine as other models..
