My driving for a month is like 500 km, therefore T-jet with automatic will be best for me for the price under 8.5 lakh.
Waiting to see if my dreams come true !

Advice Solicited>......

Guys, I have just gone and paid for a 1.4 petrol Emotion Pack Fox trot azure. Is autocarcr info true? Coz I had checked with someone in Fiat and they said that the engine is still under development and would be out only in June 2010. If anyone has more concrete info, please do let me know, as I am currently waiting for my car to be despatched from the factory as there are no fox trot azure 1.4 emotion packs available in Chennai currently for delivery. Any one is welcome to give me a heads up on this. Thanks.

Ugh looks the colour of poop!

Why would one want that colour in the heat and dust of India?

So is it confirmed that Fiat wont be putting the TJet engine in the Punto? If that's the case its a pity.

^^ Why is it so!!! No body confirmed it!!! Infact people spotted punto being tested with a petrol and diesel engine. In all probability, petrol is 1.4 T-Jet and diesel is 1.3 VGT.

I wonder when those two engines are getting into Punto.

Although I see lots of comparisons to the vRS, I guess if all goes well, this car could well make Turbo-petrols commonplace in India. Very much the way turbodiesels have become common in passenger cars in the past few years.
Its wait and watch!

Cheers

Hey Roms,
I read in a Automag thatthe 2009Palio is also being launched,Q1 2010. Will this T-Jet find its way under the hood in a palio as a replacement for 1.6 Sport/S10??? Could you check up with the insider pleasee.

Thats news! I am curious too!
However, with Fiat's current lineup I would bet on the GP to have such a variant - the flagship performance hatch for FIAT in India. Lesser Risk, More volumes and more margin, I would say, with A GP T-Jet Performance edition. Especially with the i20 running from strength to strength in that class.
That is, unless, FIAT decides to set the roads on fire with a Indian-bulit BRAVO at about 12L, give or take a few grand!

Cheers

This discussion is getting interesting! I'm holding on to my purchase till at least first qtr of next year in the hope that Fiat will make near term plans clear on the Punto. I'm very keen on driving away with the 1.3VGT or even the Tjet under its hood.

Aw, the yellow looks bad on the Linea if we have to go by the pics in the website!

I also noticed Linea 1.6 MJD Spec available in Poland and why is it difficult for Fiat to bring in this version here. I read that its being delayed since Fiat is working on building a new gearbox for this spec of Linea!

Edit:

Its here... Our folks have already captured this colour more than a year back

Looks good to my eyes!
