Fire sale @ Mahindra-Renault ?

Saw adv. on Times NOW channel few minutes back that they are now offering Rs 60,000 off on Logan to reach a milestone. Wonder if this is a fire sale before shutting the shop or simply clearing stock for the new sporty version(is there one planned actually?).

Shame that this work horse has been brought down to such low levels by shoddy positioning by two giants from across the globe.

Yes there have been enough mockery on its simplton looks , but no one would deny the quality of ride & space is still among the best.

Hmm...
It seems like a trick to clear the stock and make space for new logan which is on cards...

60k off!! Looks like to trick to clear the stock. Have heard of Mahindra Renault coming up with a new look Logan. Don't know how much is true.

The industry is flush with the news that Mahindra is coming in with a new logan with a completely new sleek body and the same everything else as the logan (Will it have the buck tooth? I pray not). That is sure to be a winner if it still has the amazing ride comfort of the logan if not anything else.

Typical sales tactic to throw old stock out before the face-lifted Logan is introduced. Here is ACI snippet on it - :: AUTOCAR INDIA - CAR AND BIKE MAGAZINE ::

The new logan looks definitly better than the previous outgoing version.
Whether the tensions between Renault-Mahindra escalate or settle down,a facelift is necessary.
And please dont sell the upgraded Logan to Taxi fellahs.

Its usual practice to give huge discounts to close off the stock. I heard, Toyota gave almost 70K for the last batch of Qualis.

Logan has already given 60K discount previously too. But somehow it did not help its sales. Jut saw the facelifted Logan in ACI. It does look better.

Lets see how it helps the duo.

The new logan does look good but I'm not sure how much market share it will be able to regain especially after loss of confidence amongst the buyers. As per Carlos Ghosn's interview during recent India visit, there might be some other cars which might be making way to India. I hope they bring the Clio and Megane

Are we sure that the partnership is still on between Mahindra and Renault? I did read few interviews of Carlos and he did indicate his unhappiness on the current partnership and the failure of Logan. Anyways, the cabbies will make hay on this offer.
