Going through this list, I realised that the late 90s and early 2000s were when Tata had a tie up with the Ad company Ogilvy and Mather and they made some brilliant ones that still stick on to memory 18 years later.

For me, the Tata Safari dicor's "Reclaim your life " ads were just right there at the top. They struck a lot of the right chords without talking too much of the vehicle.. Heck almost next to nothing. They were just brilliant.

I realized while watching the older ad that Mahindra marketed it as Scorpio by Mahindra and not Mahindra Scorpio :) , a far cry from the confidence level they have in their Mahindra badge now wherein Thar has Mahindra written in the largest possible font right across its face. Older (Pre Mighty) Scorpio did not have Mahindra written anywhere outside except the footrest on the rear I think.
