Subjective opinion but it looks fairly decent and conservative IMO. I am sure it will sell well. Consumer may be divided almost the way Civic and Corolla have divided their customers.

Any updates on the eagerly awaited ETIOS specs, variants, engines etc?

What happened to IndiCruze and Tata Stall ? I was hoping to hear a lot from them..

Volkswagen introduces Polo in India- News-The Economic Times Budget

The 1.2 litre Polo coming in three versions would have 50 per cent localisation, he said, adding and the roll out would be through its Chakan facility in Pune.

The Polo would be available in both petrol and diesel variants.

Asked about the pricing of the car, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt Ltd, member of Board and Director Neeraj Garg said it would be very competitive and in the range of Honda Jazz, Hyundai I20 and Skoda Fabia.

The exact pricing would be announced once the car reaches dealers in March, he said.

Garg said that the company intends to roll out a sedan on the Polo platform in the second half of 2010. However, before that racing version of the Polo would be rolled out in June.

Currently, Volkswagen sells its model through 40 dealers across the country.

Mercedes Benz GL 350 CDI Launched:
The GL 350 CDI that has been launched in India features Mercedes-Benz's BlueEfficiency technology. The manufacturer claims that the 224 bhp V6, with over 51 kgm of torque, will offer 10.75 kpl. BlueEfficiency means a host of measures designed to reduce fuel consumption. For instance, the 7G-Tronic automatic transmission switches to neutral when you're waiting at a traffic signal. Then there are other bits like lower rolling resistance tyres, a more aerodynamic radiator grille and spoilers near the front wheels, etc. The GL 350 CDI comes priced at Rs 64.9 lakh, ex-showroom, New Delhi.

Mercedes-Benz S500L Launched:
The long-wheelbase S 500 L is powered by a 5.5-litre V8 petrol unit that develops 388 horsepower. This flagship sedan from Mercedes-Benz received a facelift in mid-2009, after selling over 270,000 units since its launch late-2005. The W221-series, Mercedes-Benz claims, is the world's most successful luxury saloon. The revamped S-Class boasts a host of technologies - in safety, comfort and dynamics - that makes it quite up-to-date.The SL 500 L comes priced at Rs 95 lakh, ex-showroom, New Delhi.
