Drool pix and report guys! Thanks!

The only thing I hate and was gonna complain was about the alloys!

The tyres are supposed to be treated like this right? And these get Advan by default?

lol.No you are not supposed to treat tyres like this. Drifting, donuts, full blown starts and power slides are not good on any tyre.

I'm surprised they had only one car. Imagine if there was a small mechanical gremlin just before the launch with no spare car.

Those ADVANs don't look so good! There is a chunk of tread missing.....

mmmm.. I personally had the impression that these were the best performance tyres money can buy in India. People raved about the soft compound, excellent braking and what not... so what happened to those aspects? Would be nice if some one could explain in detail why these tyres didn't hold out

Lovely coverage of the event, guys!
Good thing Nissan decided to showcase the launch in a way befitting the car, rather than a tame unravel the car, click pics, and bye kinda event.

Compared to the 350Z in terms of looks i would go for the 350Z, in blue. However, the 370 does have more of the menacing looks.

on tbhp people mostly rave about the advan neovas. these tyres are advan sports. i think the neovas are a little more race oriented than the sports. also the surface might have been rough.

WOW !! Lucky buggers - having all the fun.

Quite a different way to launch a car in India - kudos to Nissan by that. And the 370Z looks AMAZING !!!! That HOT red color and really sharp styling - I am DROOLING.

Rehaan,

Come on - out with the video asap.

+1
My neighbours had a 350Z and 370Z both in red, they always used to park next to each other. 350 looks better than 370 (my personal opinion), 370 has bit of GTR in it.

The launch was very unique, unlike the regular launch. Maybe the tyre was damaged when the car was driven out from the trailer.

The car looks very neat, and the red 370Z is just mouth watering.
Excellent coverage guys.

IMO, the car should have been priced at 40 Lacs.

Not sure about the "advan sport", but the AD07s were quite a popular "drift tyre" if i'm not mistaken.

Y'know, i asked every possible question regarding the wheels, tyres, brakes etc -- but totally forgot to confim what brand and model tyre we'd be seeing!
(Though abroad the 19"ers come with Bridgestone Potenza RE050A while the 18"ers have the Yokohama Advan Sport)

Few possible reasons for the tyres not holding up :
- This car has been in India for a while (probably on the same tyres?)
- There was a "first drive" in Kharghar for some journos a couple of days back (probably on the same tyres)
- NK did a couple of laps, quite a few drifts and burnouts while shooting a promotional video the day before the launch (on the same tyres)
- There are a few reports of Advan Sports and AD08 not being as good as the AD07s (sometimes due to the same problem mentioned here)
- The road surface was not the best

The pricing is just insane!!! In the UK the car goes from GBP 26,000 to GBP 30,000 in the US, fully kitted version costs approx USD 35,000 and that is without bargaining a discount. I'd import the car from UK/AUS/NZ (dunno if it is sold in NZ and AUS, but expect it is) I'd still save a hell of a lot of money, especially keeping in mind that this is ex-showroom, once the car comes to a city like Bangalore it will cost 65-68 lacs.

At this point I'd like to use a lot of choice expletives, but I will desist since this is a public forum with children viewing.

Infact, the tyre was in such a sorry state that shredded rubber could be heard at quite a distance away. Actually an extra set of rims would have helped in a quick change. They should have kept this in mind considering what the car went through the previous day and at Kharghar.
