New Skoda Octy for India???

all, I Accidentally got to see an old Overdrive, (june 2005), which says there may be a new Octy by end of this year(dunno by skoda standards).

New one is face (grille) lifted, has 66mm more wheel base, 560 litre boot(again ), may be a little more rear leg room..

any info you guys have, pls comment..

Skoda actually said it will bring in the new octy by now but they have postponed its launch to 2006 as the company is expanding its manufacturing facility and localising the car.

Buy now or wait?

Given the prices of fuel and the traffic in bangalore, i am seriously considering the diesel version. The main problem is the non availability of ABS/rear disk brakes on the rider version, other than on the L&K & the automatic version.

BHP'ians would you recommend the automatic diesel version with ABS or suggest i wait till 2006.. I currently drive a baleno so its not too bad on the pocket..

Any feedback from owners of automatic diesel version?

regards,

ranga raj

Hey rangaraj! Its better to wait till 2006 and get the New Octy. Present Octy is cramped and even your Baleno will have better leg/head room. Diesel Automatic will give you the same FE as say your baleno or slightly better. If you want the real Diesel Advantage, then buy a Manual 1.9TDI, Why dont you buy a L n K since the New Octy will be costlier then the present L n K and the present Octy wont be phased out. Both will sell side by side.

Hope this helps.

We wont be getting 2L FSI for sure.

Already Skoda has given 1.9TDI for homologation! So i guess it wont be in the near future!

97 octane in Mumbai - think you can get it ordered. I read somewhere the BPL guy has to get his stock from the airport in barrels at Rs 70+ litre.

End of the day - 97 oct difficult to fine in rural areas etc. I cannot get speed 93 beyond a metro
