Hi all,
Volvo has launched its s80 model in india.

37 lakh ex- showroom- that is seriously competitive pricing for a brilliant car- if they can get their brand positioning spot on, the germans may have a thing or two to think about.

38 lacs for that V8?... S80!!! awesome!! how many horses does the new one has!

38 lacs is for the Diesel variant (D5).

Looks like VOLVO india has started to listen to the chinese leadership in terms of pricing. These are good cars that could do lot better with better styling and price positioning.

Woah! Such competetive pricing.clap:

Volvo India getting to its toes..

Love the sleek build of the car

The Mercedes E250CDI Elegance sells at around 40L. So I wonder if this is such a big deal after-all. But for those who want comfy front seats and less attention, the S80 might be worth a look.

A front wheel drive Ford Mondeo with a V8. Not worth the money especially with gobs of torque steer.

I have seen this car in person this monday at volvo showroom in mohali, it is very good package for 37lacs and has better build quality than BMW 5 series (Not sure of comparision to Audi A6) but I still feel new Merc E class is the segment bench mark.

An awesome vehicle but price is not that cheap either.

I agree it is a bit expensive although it comes with V8 engine.

One question , did the old S80 sell at all in India ? I mean that car is way expensive. I agree that the price is justified with all the safety features they have got in the car , but then still the uber rich class who are into Mercs and Beemers have a look at the Volvo or is it just another car for them ?

It sure has a Ford Mondeo lineage, and a FWD. On road would be 45lacs+ Mumbai. For the price not worth it. Not great fun to drive, and safety features kick in when? Will depreciate like Camry's.

Whats so new about this? It looks the same as the model launched 2 years back.
I saw a S80 yesterday, it had tv screens behind the headrest but no xenons. Rather weird choice of features offered.

They have upgraded its diesel engine (To meet stricter norms?) and some little features includes the interior cabin filter which prevents dust entering in cabin. nothing major changes as such but pricing is attractive for sure.
