Good work NevGin! Must have taken lot of effort to compile these.

Good one stop shop for comparisons of the hatchbacks!

Isn't the i20 CRDi rated at 90ps? Atleast their website says so (90/ 4000 - ps/rpm).

It most certainly is! Thanks for catching it. I have updated the same.

On another note, I am sure you guys will catch a few more errors on this sheet as there has not been a review by anyone other than me. So please keep them corrections coming.

Thanks!

I found a discrepancy in calculations of KW from PS figures - I used this converter: Unit Converter

@ Nev - Were you able to check on this? Using this converter, the kw figures are different as compared to the ones stated in the file.

There is no ZXi model for WagonR. :)

Excellent work.
Can the boot size comparison also be added ?.

Great work! How about using HP/tonne for the power to weight figures instead of KW/Kg? I doubt KW is an intuitive measure for many. Just a matter of a single multiplication. 1 KW/Kg = 1341 HP/tonne or 1360 ps/tonne (I hate the Indian automobile industry's obsession with ps!)

Viper. Correct to the 7th decimal place, 1 PS = 0.73549880 KW. On the sheet, I have rounded this off to 0.74

Correct. I am taking off the wheel spec entirely as I cannot seem to find them today. I could have sworn I had taken this previously from the Maruti website.

Good suggestion. I will try and put this together.

Yes, why not. I will add hp/tonne. European's tend to use KW so will keep that on as well.

@Viper: I have reworked the KW conversion and taken it correct to 8 decimal places and then rounded off the product. It keeps the value of the power to weight ratio relatively true and further aids in its conversion to HP/Tonne. Thanks.

@Tacho: I have added HP/Tonne and used 1341.02209 for the conversion. Appreciate the suggestion.

@Kiren: I have added a column for boot space and it is work-in-progress. Will update as soon as I have it ready.

@Moderators: Could you please update post #1 with the attached updated file. Thank you.

any update on this? If yes, can you please upload?please:

I have included boot space on this sheet. However, there are very few instances where manufacturers have mentioned them on their websites. In most cases I have mentioned NA = Not available.

Updated the sheet with the Nissan Micra and added 4S A/T to A star transmission.

Holy smokes - never realized i10 kappa is up there with swift in kw/kg (joint 4th)! :D
What about alto K10?

Fantastic compilation!! Its like the Bible-o-hatch for all those prospective buyers out there. If you could add a dash comparison as well viz. 0-60kph or 20-80kph, it'll be great for comparing the performance. right now it might look, the Polo is marginally more powerful than the M800 as per kw/kg :o

Thanks! Dash timing is highly debatable depending on the trim of the model, with or without the airconditioning on, etc hence have left it out till there is one golden source that has tested all of these under the same conditions.
