Quite interesting. If Mercedes has terminated the contract, then they should have published public notices in the newspapers to let people know about that. If the same wasn't done then there is obviously something fishy.

OT: In all the latest BMW Ads, the existing dealer, Delta Motor's name is not announce while a new name "Kun Exclusive" is printed. Don't know whats the matter here.

When MBIL decided to withdraw CAMA motors here, they had issued a full page notice in TOI well in advance.

MBIL has been getting Head Heavy, IMO. I as an Owner of 4 MB cars am very dissatisfied with the way they respond and find an excuse to wriggle out of their responsibility.
Its not surprising that the dealers are also being treated wrongly.
Sanghi, Cama, Millenium etc etc cannot all be wrong!

Interesting indeed.
I am eager to know what will be the final result of this case.
Mercedes website has only B.U.Bhandari as their dealer for Pune.

Bu Bhandari are experienced dealers, and should do a good job too! But MBIL should look at Goodwill too and not only Money.

Somthing a miss here all dealers have been with company for a long time and I have similar experience with MB. They really need to get their act together - they should run service/repair themselves and not make it a business as a lot of fence sitters will by their cars if maintaince is clean and fair. MB should also give 5 year warrenty like every where else in the world since they talk about permanently committed to india. i think the dealers found out that being a MB partner is a raw deal just like most MB car owners I talk to feel

Dealer sues Mercedes Benz India !!!

Hey guys,

Just saw this in the news yesterday, anybody got any more info on this??

"It was high drama in Pune on Monday when six top officials of Mercedes Benz India (MBI), including the CEO and managing director, Wilfried Aulbur, rushed to a Shivajinagar court seeking interim anticipatory bail in an alleged forgery case.

The case was filed by Millennium Motors Private Ltd, challenging the termination of their dealership. Millennium Motors has alleged that officials at Mercedes Benz India forged documents of account settlement. The plea will be heard on Tuesday.

Mercedes Benz officials had approached Bombay high court on February 18, seeking relief in the event a case was registered in this regard. The high court stated that in the event of arrest of these officials

in connection with the Millennium case, the applicants be released on bail of Rs25,000 each.

“The high court has given them interim protection till February 25 and will hear the case that day,” said Shyam Taori, advocate for Millennium Motors.

Khadki police station senior inspector Vilas Gawli said the police would record statements of Merdedes officials before filing an FIR against them.

Police said they had received a complaint from Dipak Naik, the chairman of Millennium Motors requesting investigation into the allegations.

The allegations Naik alleged that the forgery by Mercedes officials had caused Millennium “severe financial losses.”

I don't buy this forgery rubbish. Mercedes is amongst the most renowned automotive marques in the world and they have solid corporate systems in place. I know that, even if a dealer wants to release an advert or change the size of the logo in his dealership, it has to be pre-approved by Mercedes. C'mon, this is an extremely responsible organisation here. I do not believe that Mercedes officials would stoop so low as to forge dealer signatures on a form.

It's unfortunate that one complaint from a dealership has the CEO running to the high court for relief from arrest (bail). The latest DNA news item states that bail extension uptil the 4th of March has been allowed.

Many automobile manufacturers are in the news for all wrong reasons, be it recalls, scam, bribe scandals.
