easy!
green is a very "In your face" color.
rather than choosing boring colors like beige or brown etc people go in for flashy colors to get that extra coverage.

Such colors look well in media - print and electronic. Hence catches the attention.

Manufacturers do launch couple of colors purely from marketing point of view. But the bulk of sales may not constitute these colors.

Usually color choice depends on the climate. I read somewhere that white is the most popular color in North India; while silver/grey shades are the ones in South India.

I seriously doubt how many fluorescent green cars will be seen on the road.

BTW, spelling of fluorescent is incorrect in thread title.

i quite liked the 1st generation Palio's green shade back in early 2000s. I still find the green Palio very attractive, one is there in my office parking.

I think Palio was the first car to have this shade, the one in Santro was a shade darker (more green than yellowish)

While this isn't flourocent green, Skoda uses this rather weird tinge on its website, both here and internationally, for the Laura. Its really really lousy! When it was launched it took me ages to find pics in some other colour!

beautiful observation! I have a 'mint frappe' ('Green') Swift and it's still in all print ads & even on the maruti website though the colour is discontinued.

@ Rehaan:
That was quite informative, never thought on these lines, thank you! And it sounds like serious stuff.

But I have to agree, the only logical reason looks like Green is a little unconventional and and hence more eye-catching, attention-grabbing, youthful, Energetic colour.

@xingamazon:
Great topic for a thread, buddy! Good food for thought!

Some points in this topic the two new launches in the block:

Honda Brio : Uses the same Green Florescent tinge again as we discussed.

Toyota Etios: Doesnt use the Green color at all.
Even Polo dd not launch with the Green tinge colour.

I guess the rule only applies for the Hatches. Let us watch out for Fiesta and Etios Hatch.
