Slightly here but i cant tell you what a sense of relief (sort of) i got after reading this. Barely 6 months with the Audi and its at 11,250km
Scared me to some level and reading your statement did make things easier to a certain extent.
Sorry again for the off topic shoot here.

Man as long as your careful with it, and taking it on relatively good roads dont worry about it. Of course please do give it full throttle when your on good roads. Heck if I had your car I wouldnt use anything else either.

I was at Promande, Vasant Kunj in Delhi yesterday. They have the 5-series, the Z4 and the 320d CE displayed over there.
So i checked with the manager and found out the scheme.

The 320d CE is 24,50,000 ex-showroom. which works out to 26,50,000 on-road.
the downpayment is 9,00,000 + 2,00,000 for insurance and registration, i.e 11,00,000.
The loan component is 17,00,000 for a period of 7 years. A monthly EMI of 19,999 with the 12th payment as 1,00,000.
So this works out to : 11x7x19,999 = 15,40,000
Bullet payment of 1,00,000 every year for 7 years = 7,00,000
Therefore total cost of car comes to : 11,00,000 + 15,40,000 + 7,00,000 = 33,40,000 total, over 7 years.

This trend is not good and some agency needs to set the record straight. BMW, Audi even VW is luring people with incomplete financials stated ads.

Which financial authority of the state, or fedral looks into this or is it the consumer protection board ?

Advertising an EMI of Rs. say 7000 a month for a VW Polo is OK but.

State the period of EMI
State after how much down payment
state effective rate of intrest
if any other terms & conditions like a 50,000 or 100,000 annual accelerated payment explain this to the customer, through mass media itself

Be clear about the freebies you are actually offering. Bumber to bumper warranty applications / disclaimers.
Free maintainance package of three years - Does it cover all parts, even the regular oil. filter, tyres and brake pads, a business must be specific on this not take a customer for a ride later.
Free insurance - what does it cover for free, which liablities, must be explained.

If everything not in the ad then atleast on the website.

And as for the customer - a team bhp member, please understand all of the above and the fine print if any before signing any deal with the showroom or finance company. There is no hurry take a full week to think inspite of the showroom guy calling you three times a day. DO not give them your number, tell them you will contact them back, get off the hard sell pressure these guys try to create.

Obviously, the scheme is for 320d CE
Down Payment towards ex-showroom price - INR 12.5 L
Tenure 60 months - 59 EMIs of INR 25,333 each and 60th of approx INR 4.6L
In addition, one needs to pay registration and tax (INR 66,000 - Gurgaon)
Insurance, BSI and BMW Secure extra.

And BTW, I was aghast at the knowledge of salesperson whom I spoke to over phone. After listening to a lot of marketing cr*p, I finally had to tell him to shut up and get his basics right before he thinks of taking up another call. And that without having necessary info with him, I had clearly wasted my time and BMW had wasted its money without letting sales folks know the details of the offer

(Some examples - intially I was communicated down payment to be INR 16.5L which was later corrected to 12.5 L. Also, he communicated 5 year/100,000 kms BSI to be close to 2 L and when I asked him if he was sure, he checked up at his end to confirm that it was 2.98 L. Cheek of this guy was that he said "I had said approx 2L" to which I had to firmly tell him that fortunately Indian rupee has not lost its value so much that 2L and 3L can be approx equal!!)

Seems my hunt for a 320d (whether a sparingly used highline or the new CE) will have to continue for some more time.. Still hell confused between Endy/Captiva/320d
I spoke to dueschte motoren. They have a sports plus 320d. On the phone he offered it to me for Rs. 31.5 L. I would imagine if you walk in with the chequebook he will give it for 30L ex showroom.

This is an awesome Deal ! The sports plus cost 37.5 L when it was introduced. It's a 2012 manufacture but I'm sure that wont matter much

I don't see the need for the rant here. Afterall its an advertisement and the role of advertisement is to generate interest for the product. What it does is ensures a lot of enquiries and possibly footfalls into the showroom. Agreed many of these would be disappointed on knowing the exact maths but a few would actually see the car and fall for it, possibly extent there budget and buy it. Why initiate a federal enquiry into it ?
