Corolla Altis Facelift spotted in Thailand-India up next?

Came upon these pictures on Indian autos blog and burlapp cars, corolla altis facelift spotted in thailand with new front bumper grill, taillights etc.

Both 1.8 and 2.0 models have been spotted. Considering India launch in September 2008, doesn't like it will reach India before mid 2011. Or is it otherwise?

But corolla diesel is coming in a couple of weeks.

The white Altis looks great. Even ACI says Altis D will have this facelifted look.

The engine in the silver Altis looks like what is the dual VVT-I 2ZR-FE 1.8L engine. So it has been finally plonked into the SE Asian Corolla.

Only a matter of time before it is here in India. Output is about 2 BHP (@ approx 98.5 to 99 KW versus 97 for the 1zz) more than the 1ZZ-FE.

Cheers!

Also, this looks more like the Camry.

White Altis actually a bit smaller and compact.Maybe its due to all the skirts and spoilers.

Really like the White one. Hope that's the one coming to India.

Does anyone have an idea about the price for the Diesel variants for Altis?

Why does the white one remind me of a Mazda ?

Toyota is trying to maintain a certain family look amongst it's cars - Camry, Corolla, Innova .. The last Camry / Corolla I liked were the ones from early 2000's. IMO, Honda is also losing it, but not to this extent.

I seriously doubt Toyota would introduce these upgrades to the diesel Corolla.
It would make it even more expensive considering the low volumes being considered for the diesel variant.

We would surely see these cosmetic tweaks around the mid life crisis of the Corolla, maybe year end/next year only !

Alloys are nice ! Much better looking than the boring ones on offer currently !

Just give the the Altis like what Joecreative has!

The rear looks great IMHO, like a big gem for reverse.

The New Altis looks much better than the current one on sale in India. If introduced in India (+ a Diesel heart), there is a large possibility that this one would take more sales away from Civic.

The front is simple but aggressive, whereas the rear is more sophisticated.

I like this.
But for some reason being constantly reminded of the old Mazda 3.
However, this adds a touch of aggression to the otherwise mature look. Like an intimidating 40 year old executive.

So here we have from toyota, a look alike of Mazda! The white altis looks pretty much like a Mazda 6 from the front.

Are the exteriors only changed or has the interiors also given a touch up?
