Eh? 110? Thought we were to get the 140bhp one IIRC.

Nice scoop,sidindica!

Any info on a T-jet Punto? Has Fiat made any announcements about the same. Planning to get a 1.4 next month. Am I rushing?

Err, why does the text say Garrett turbo and the pics show an IHI one?

Looks like it'll be remap central for this car. :D

May be, the Pictures are for representation purpose & could have been taken from some international site.

pics from a polish website for representation purposes only. No other details available. No, neither I have seen nor driven the car.

IMO, the Engine will be restricted to 110 BHP to aid the Fuel Efficiency.

Wasn't it supposed to be a 120BHP engine?
I never heard about it being 140BHP.

Anyways, guess it has been detuned for Indian fuel, as I believe many manufacturers are shying away from offering turbo-charged petrol engines due to fuel quality concerns.

Maybe this should clear your doubts. Its from fiat's auto expo brochure.

This is the right time to launch the Linea T-Jet, or the enthusiasts waiting for a Euro performance sedan might head towards a VW dealership. I hope Fiat will not mess the gear ratios this time, Fiat please please we need a genuine performance car this time, we don't care how many HP it makes on paper but the car should perform on road unlike the Punto 90HP. Keeping the fingers crossed!

FYI, the Linea T-Jet produces/is tuned to 152 PS (112 kW) @ 5500 rpm in countries like Brazil. The 0–100 km/h time is 8.5secs!!!clap:
I am not entirely aware of the difference in the specification details of the TJet engines in India & Brazil, but on plain looks it seems like Fiat detuned the engine for the Mileage -critical Indian market. Or may be even considering the fuel quality...Having said that, if I were to buy it, I'd try going for a Pete's job and (they could) extract possibly 130-140bhp out of it.
But, once launched, I'd be keen to know if the T-Jet has an improved plastic quality & fixed other niggles over the existing Linea before checking with my bank for a loan!

Highlight for me is 200Nm @ 2500 RPM, diesel like rush in a petrol. The low and mid range performance would be great. Let's wait for a detailed drive report.

clap: clap:
Finally i have a reason to replace my S10

please sid..........more details please

Thanks a lot Sid for sharing the details of the car. Let me pray and hope that Fiat India will price the car appropriately and launch the same at the right time. :)

Waiting for more details from you Sid!

Would 10 BHP (110 vs 120) really matter? I think the crux here is 200Nm torque, and that too at 2500 rpm. Bang! Awesome low-end drive, and with the petrol engine refinement. and superb high end too. God! Till the VW TSI comes.

One question, would detuning a 150 bhp capable engine to 110 bhp alone make sure that T-JET would work with possibly adulterated petrol? Detuning is more for FE I think, not for fuel quality.

Sid, any info on price? please!

Finally its coming out when i needed it the most..
Any details as to when its launching and price?
