But if they the intergrate a boot on the Fabia well with a good design, and then price it around the 9-10lakhs with it solid build quality it might be VFM.

But there is supposed to one planned based on the Vento platform. Is this going to that sedan? :Shockked:

The sedan version in zigwheels does appear to be a photoshop job. But it does look like the old fabia sedan, whose production was stopped in 2008. Does look like indigo CS.

More details here.

The Fabia sedan and station wagen do sell in decent numbers in Eastern Europe, so they will just bring it here.

Now whether it will sell or not will depend on how they price it vis-a-vis the competition. Mind it Skoda is seen as a premium brand, may not be on TBHP but definitely outside

What's with these hatches?? The moment they come to India, they start growing a fat A**.

Must be the parathas, samosas & jalebis :uncontrol

But on a serious note, the pic in Zigwheels looks photoshopped & hopefully isn't the real deal. :deadhorse

The Fabia sold reasonably well in Europe - even the Fabia sedan did well though not as well as the hatchback. Of course, Skoda is a downmarket brand there and they offer very competitive prices. The Fabia was launched at retarded prices and people still think it is an expensive car and are shocked when you tell someone that you can buy one OTR in Bombay for 5.5 lakhs. Shame - the car is actually quite good if sluggish - not that you are going to zoom anywhere in Bombay.

If this report is at all true:

The transition from an expensive Fabia hatch to a fairly priced Fabia sedan could bring out positive results.

Think of this, the Fabia hatch - Active Petrol is offered at 5 lakhs. With Skoda quality, a sedan which starts at 6.5 L for the Active variant, it might do the trick.

Also..
- There were talks of Skoda going in for a price correction for the Fabia. If that happens, possiblities of introducing the sedan at an even lower price also arise.

- The Fabia shares its platform with the Polo. The Vento is based on the Polo. The new Octavia would be a reskinned Vento. So, is the new Fabia sedan the new Octavia? Or are they planning to offer two cars on the same platform?

Wow! This is as bad as it can get. Seems to be Skoda decided, well, if MUL can do it with the Dzire then so can we. I hope it is just a PS job, but, a PS job on a website ?
If it is not a PS then it is not going to any good to the extended Fabia. The best boot attachment was pulled off by Tata Motors on the Vista and Indica extensions.

Yes the vista and Manza extentions on the same platform are nice but Punto and Linea actually take the cake.

The Fabia sedan should be similar to the vento.

Now what we need to figure is
1) the 1.2 petrol engine on the fabia would be underpowered for the fabia sedan- it has this reputation with the hatch itself.
2) the 1.4 petrol engine just did not work in the indian conditions due to various factors and they have discontinued it, so that too is not an option.
3) The Desel engine too cannot be used in the current power state as it would make the vehicle too underpowered for what it represents.
4) So they need to look for newer engines.

Also
1) The Fabia retails at a price point slightly higher than the polo, so all the wrong reasons.
2) The vento is likely to be introduced earlier to the Fabia sedan. So where would they position the fabia sedan? vs the vento. The polo is doing well and the skoda brand needs to be priced below the VW, but can that be done with the Fabia sedan.

They could call the Fabia sedan the new "Octavia mini" :) who knows that seems to be the trend with the nokia N97 mini, Sony experia mini, and mini pro. The Octavia name could get them some sales.

What about a TSI engine in the Fabia sedan / Octavia mini.

The Fabia with a boot is the Skoda Felecia (hope punched the name right), which sits a notch higher than the Fabia, because of the bigger boot, & ma eventually replace the Octavia. Its image has been posted in another topic in the forum & that the one doing rounds on the net these day.

They say it is one of the hot secret cars expected soon.

If I am not wrong, the Fabia is based on the older generation Polo. IMO it doesn't qualify to replace a higher segment Octavia with mere boot addition.

They stopped selling the Felicia a long time back.Is there a new Felicia on the cards?

Dzire and Indigo were successful because the hatches they were based on were themselves successful. When Fabia did not sell in any good numbers, what makes Skoda think "Fabizire" will sell? Skoda should abort this project and direct its resources elsewhere.

If this report (Skoda to Debut Logan Rival this Month - autoevolution) is to be believed:

- The Skoda Felicia will be launched in the Moscow Auto Show, which is starting on Aug 28.

- Will replace the Octavia.

- Is based on the Volkswagen Polo sedan platform.

- Engines to be offered: 1.4 and 1.6-liter petrol engines and a 1.6-liter TDI.

My PS impression on how could the Fabia sedan look like:
