I read these auto blogs everyday and I was surprised to see this blog entry today . Am not sure if its just someones conceptualization or will it be a reality someday . But blinging a NANO . Who would go that far ??Would you ?

I don't know whether this will see the light of the day, of course not, or a maybe, but the designs are spectacular. I remember seeing a gold mercedes then why not this?

Looks hideous....

Just hope its a concept / joke. That jewellery will disappear from the car within a matter of seconds if parked unguarded!

Send it to the Arabs, they like this stuff anyway.Looks hideous and gawdy.

Of course only they can buy it with spare change.

Well well... i know one Indian who would jump on it immediately... "Bappi Lahari" would order a dozen of them :uncontrol

That is a spectacular design. Its amazing how they fused the jewelry design with that of a car. Should make for good art/design museum pieces. No one in their right mind would buy or sell these for daily use anyway.

If that NANO is decked in Gold and Diamonds, it will have the distinction of same vehicle being sold in 2 version, one version being the cheapest vehicle ever manufactured and the other version being the most expensive vehicle on sale at the same time.

The vehicle is a one-off piece being made by Titan to celebrate 5000yrs of Indian jewelery manufacturing industry.Below is a quote from the article.

Quote:

The priceless pure jewelery Nano car will be a single unit as a symbol of Titan Industries COO’s precision capabilities and will serve as a memento and not for sale. However, before this car is made, there were 120 odd designs created by internal teams at COO out of which three has been selected for the public vote. Results will be announced by mid-December and the one getting maximum votes will be selected and replicated in real. The real one will be on display by April next year.

whats with the Indian car manufacturers,
first maruti comes out with the vinyl covered ugly ducklings and now the nano.
though the second design is not that bad, bappi lahiri sure wont mind donning one of these.:)

I liked it because of the art on it. It is so Indian. I think patterns are wonderful Gold or no gold. So its not going to either Bappi or any filthy rich, don't know what to do with money, Arab dude. Nice memento though.

The second art is good. However i feel that this is some artist's wild conceptulization coming on paper.

Especially if the artist is in arab country and a good friend of one of those arabs, seeing bling bling day in and out.

Goldplus Nano | Vote for Your Favourite Jewellery Car
& finally, this is the reason why they have been building these GOLDEN Nano's:
Yes, you heard it right! India, today, boasts an unmatched legacy of 5000 years in jewellery tradition. India’s contribution to World Jewellery and ornamentation is something that speaks volumes about its ingenuity. Marvelous Meenakari to the Charismatic Kundan, Indian artisans have time and again proved their passion and skill. It is indeed a proud moment for Goldplus and the one billion Indians who stand testimony to the evolution of the grand Indian jewellery culture.
Transcending time and history, Indian Jewellery has graduated from being just a craft to an exquisite art form – both in design and workmanship. For the rulers, jewels were a statement of power, prosperity and prestige. But the greater desire to adorn oneself is exclusive to the Indian women. This inherent relationship has seen many designs, patterns, styles and techniques over 5000 years today, the value of which is at the heart of Goldplus. Goldplus wishes to commemorate this epic moment by giving India its first jewellery car.
To give this golden lineage, a modern expression, we are privileged to have you choose your favorite among a panel of three exclusive jewellery car designs.

Here are some detailed pics of all 3 designs that are being chosen as final designs for voting:
(My personal vote will go to design 3 as I loved the front design, especially our Indian national anthem. written on it)
(This post will contain total 10 pictures, first 5 pics are of design 1 & next 5 pics are of design 2)
(@ Mods, sorry for back to back posts)
