Need some information regarding an "Out of State" car purchase.

A friend of mine from Karnataka, is planning on picking up a BMW 5 series or a BMW 7 series (both 2nd hand) from Mumbai.

The 5 series is a 530d, priced at 38L. The model number for the 7 series is not known to him, but it's priced at 65L.

It would be great if someone could give me some details regarding the procedure and the costs involved.
