Hello,

You can expect approx Rs. 1.5 lacs to Rs. 1.6 lacs for your May 2008 Alto Lxi with 53,000 kms on ODO.

To get a better price try to find a direct buyer, if possible. Alternatively you can negotiate a good exchange deal with the Car dealer from whom you plan to purchase your new Car.

Thanks,

How much should I pay for a 2009 May RITZ VXI, 30000 Km run in Trivandrum city? Seller is asking 3.5 L, While I think it should not be more than 2.9L. Condition of car is okay barring minor scratches. I am yet to TD it. What should be the rate I should settle at?

Somehow I have not seen any F30 3 Series in the second hand market. Is it because too few were sold or are the owners extremely happy with it? A friend is looking out for one.

3.5 is way too high ! In Chennai similar car would go at 2.6-2.7 max

I agree! But generally I have seen Trivandrum prices are slightly higher for the same car than Chennai prices. That is why I wanted to find out the "true value"!(pun intended):D

Look harder. There are quite a few available in NCR region. Ofcourse the car is still only a year and a half old and hence there won't be many in the used car market.

I am getting a used 2011 Honda City VMT done about 9700 Kms. The previous owner was outside India for some time and his daily travel is about 30 Kms. I have checked all the services records from Honda and everything looks fine. The car is also in great condition both inside and outside. He has just renewed his insurance and has also got 35% NCB, there is no accident. Even Honda service centre has only PMS records.

The car is Bangalore registered and asking price is 6.30L. Is it a good deal?

Am not surprised with the rate but you can try bringing it down to 3.2L. I too had a Swift VDi manufactured during 2009 and I sold it for a really good price. I should say 3.2 should be a reasonable price.

Naveen - there are 2 key pts to note

1) You are referring to a Swift which has far better resale than the Ritz

2) Srikanth is checking for a petrol car and yours was diesel

Yes, I know. That's why the price I got was much much higher than what was quoted for the Ritz. I just wanted to point out that price here is on the higher side (in the second hand car market) and also Ritz petrol is in good demand here.

I think 6.3 L is a good price for 2011 City VMT, my friend picked 2011 (22K odo) VMT for 6L in Kerala. Considering the higher road tax in Bangalore it looks like a good deal. Give 6L initial offer to him and see, also please check the car with an independent mechanic.

Check tyres and make sure that ODO reading is genuine.

We started from 6.6 and after some haggling finally landed at 6.15L. I have asked him to renew the insurance with a 0 Dep plan so that I get 35% NCB and he has obliged. Final landing cost is 6.30L including Insurance until Aug 2015.

I have checked the ODO reading and it seems genuine since Honda service centre has PMS records since Aug 2013 and 3000 odd Kms on ODO. Tyres are Goodyear and looks good enough to last atleast 40K kms. Spare is unused.

I guess one has to pay the NCB bonus to the insurance company while transferring the car and insurance from another person.

What can I expect for W124 Mercedes E220 done 1.25 lacs Kms very good condition.

The car has new tires battery insurance and its 1998 model. Has company alloys and leather seats.

Hello,

The maximum price that you should pay for May 2009 Maruti Ritz Vxi with 30,000 kms on ODO is Rs. 3,00,000.

The seller is asking for very high price and used car dealers will not offer him more than Rs. 2.7 lacs.

Thanks,
