I will soon be moving abroad and with a heavy heart, I need to sale out my Polo GT TSI, December 2014 manufactured and 2015 registered in Delhi. The car has done 3k kms and in showroom condition. The current on-road price in Delhi is 9.5 lacs, what price should I be asking for? |
What color is it? I expect you could get about 7.5 lacs for it. It must be automatic dsg right?

It's Flash Red, automatic DSG. I got an offer for 7.7 lacs but trying to get 8.0 lacs.
Guys just sold my old Vista quadrajet - 2009 version with 115000 kms on the clock for 1.75 lakhs. I hope that was a good deal. The car was not in that good shape and need urgent suspension overhaul, though no other problems except few dents here and there.
Now I am in market looking for either good Punto 1.3 90/75 or brand new Wagon R. Not able to decide. What should be an ideal price for 2013 Punto 75 Emotion pack, done only 1000kms and lying ideal for more than 9 months now. Car's body and every thing else is neat and clean and no issues with the car as its service records are in place. The quote that I got is 6.75 lakhs. Is it worth?

Car lying idle for 9 months can bring a lot of unexpected expenses. Beware.
What will be the price of second hand i20 asta diesel, say April 2011 model in Delhi?

The accessories hold almost no additional value. Don't expect more than 3.5. Especially as this is the older shape swift. If you can remove some of the addons and sell separately you might get a better price overall. |
Sold it to an Enthusiast at 3.55!

The odometer says that it may not be too worn out but the age should fetch you anything between 2.5 to 3 L.
Good luck :thumbs up

Hi FidoDido,
One of my friends is looking for a used sedan in the same range, would be great if you could tell in which city is the car registered.
So my hunt for the Lancer continues. I am more interested in the pre-2003 models and this morning I got a call from a True Value showroom near my home about a '99 Lancer.
What I liked:
1) Very good body line, no dents.
2) Tyres have 80% thread left.
3) Leather seats, very clean interiors.
4) The car does not look like a 16 years old car.
5) All the electrics/switches work.
What I didn't like:
1) The car has run 1,87,xxx km.
2) Suspension needs an overhaul (expected on a car this old).
3) The age.
4) Slight squeaks coming from Clutch and Accelerator pedals.
If I am getting the car, say in 80k-90k, is it a good buy? How much life is left in a engine for a Petrol Lancer (1.5) that has run 1,87,000km?

True value is quoting about double of what it's worth. I don't know about the life of that engine, but a couple of lancers that my mechanic has fixed, he's purchased engine blocks for pennies, apparently, from mayapuri and sotiganj. So, even if it's on its way, it's a cheap fix.
Also, there are a lot of mods available for the lancer online, so you can go nuts with it.
However, you need to save some money from true value.
And as far as I remember of franchise dealers, there will be no warranty applicable on a 16 year old car.
I know this may be a wrong thread to update but here goes.
I was on the look out for a nice sporty hatch and after a long search finally found the car I was looking for (albeit in a slightly modern avatar). I was on the look out for a Palio 1.6S but found a 2008 palio stile 1.6S run only 6k kms (yes its true and yes I did verify for any tampering) for a decent price.clap: Little bit over than the average but being in bangalore and being asked ridiculous prices for much older and bad kept cars I was ok paying a little premium. :D
Thanks guys for suggestions when I posed questions in this thread.

Awesome!
The stile has a lower resale value since the body parts are way more expensive than the old Palio. Headlights are 10k each and bumper is 10k, front impact would mean minimum 30K expense while the older palio would cost 10K or less for the same new parts. Similar scenario with the rear as well.
Anyways, give us some details, mainly the price and how did you find out the car?

Price was close to 2l. I was searching through all the forums (Teambhp, my company classifields, friends, Olx, quikr). Saw and contacted many. People here quote high prices even if the car is very shabby in the inside or even if the car is very old just because of enthusiasts.
Managed to find this in quikr and that too just 2 kms from my place after close to 2 months of search. Paid close to 20k more than what I had intended but I am happy with the car though. Pics, Initial impression and detailed report hopefully in a few days.
