Re: Battery Theft : The new target?

How about welding a threaded wheel stud onto the battery holder and then using locking wheel lug nuts, same as the ones used to prevent theft of alloys, to secure the battery.
The design is similar to the existing battery holder assembly except with wheel studs and lock nuts.

Re: Battery Theft : The new target?

A couple of battery thieves in a locality in Bangalore were foiled by some street dogs; one even bit one of the guys. So they spread poisoned biriyani around. Four dogs died. Fortunately, they were caught by the cops and confessed.

Re: Battery Theft : The new target?

The battery of my car was stolen a few months back. It all happened in 2 minutes. I have a full cctv recording of the incident and I can share with members. The alarm didn’t trigger.

As an anti-theft measure, I got a cage installed with help of a fabricator. The battery was secured with help of a lock. Attached the image of cage below.

Last night, my car was targeted again but thieves were unsuccessful. The cage did its job. This may help some of us who have been a victim of battery theft.
