Motor Trend's editorial staff selected vehicles based on advancement in design, engineering excellence, efficiency, safety and value. Testing involved a week-long process including precisely measured track tests and "real-world" driving.
Other finalists for the award were the BMW X3, the Ford Explorer, the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, the Mini Cooper Countryman, the Saab 9-4X and the Volkswagen Touareg.

How much is the ex showroom price? Have they disclosed whether they have sold any unit already or how many bookings have they received so far?
Eagerly waiting for price details. A V6 engine would have been better - seems, it will be having the same engine that of freelander2 and being in the same price range as Discovery- wonder whether Discovery makes a better choice.

Evoque hasnt been launched yet, Ex Showroom prices speculated to be 48L.
Showroom didnt disclose how many bookings they have received.
Got a call from LR today. The sales guy said they are releasing the prices in a day or two. They would receive the cars by the end of this month
In the mean time JLR is planning a new 'hot' version of the Evoque. It is rumored to have 300 odd hp compared to the approx 240ps in the present Dynamic petrol variant.
I now have a feeling that the Evoque deliveries in India are going to be delayed by quite a bit.
They are gravely struggling with deliveries in the UK with customers having to wait another couple of months from the earlier promised delivery date (some customers claim upto 10 weeks). It seems suppliers are creating bottlenecks due to the more than expected demand.

Just read on the CnB Facebook page that the prices are starting at 44.75 L.
Not sure of 2011 end but, I saw an ad on a huge hoarding near bandra on the western express highway ! Looks like the time is near to .... Evoque Mumbai

- Engine options include three 3 diesels and 1 petrol, all mated to a 6-Speed Auto
- Both 3 and 5 door options are available
- Bookings are open
