There goes Times news reporting adding hype and masala. DNA claims 3000kms run while here its 12000kms!
Sometimes I wonder what goes on in the minds of well to do people who still resort to stealing(as opposed to some poor hungry destitute)

His greed finally led him to this doom.

He "applide" for a registration.
I wonder if, during his 12000 KM run, did he get a service done?

Cheers harit

re: Cars being stolen from showrooms!

I can understand this chap's feelings. There are a few cars which made me plan the same as well. I do not agree with his choice of car though. All this effort and risk for a Q7!

re: Cars being stolen from showrooms!

Is this a dedicated TD car or will Audi pass this on to an unsuspecting customer? The car seems gleaming new!

No Boss his warranty will not be terminated since nowadys all new gen cars first service is 10000 kms, so he just drove 2000 kms EXTRA which can be overlooked in a such expencive car .

Another incident as reported by TOI

AHMEDABAD: Showrooms have become the new hunting grounds for auto thieves, as yet another case was registered on Monday, where an SUV worth Rs 9 lakh was reported stolen from SG Road.

According to police, in the last two years, they have registered 10 such cases where cars ranging from Audi to Maruti Swift Dzire have been stolen from either a showroom or from close to it.

According to Sola police, Divyesh Thakkar, a resident of Noopur Tower in Satellite, registered a complaint stating that he had gone to Mahindra Motors showroom near Punjab Automobiles on SG Road on Monday afternoon. He gave his new Mahindra Scorpio for servicing there. The car hadn't even been assigned an RTO registration number.

"He was waiting for car to emerge from the washing area at 1.30 pm when a man drove off with the car without stopping and he realized that car had been stolen. The man zoomed off," said a Sola police official.

Investigators have sought CCTV footage of the incident to get clues in the case.

re: Cars being stolen from showrooms!

Wow, what an "enthusiast".

But... for a Q7, really? That car's not even really fun-to-drive, its just a people-mover. He should've gone for an R8 or at least an S4/S5.

Jokes apart, really feel sorry for his family. What an irresponsible thing to do.
