Hi can any one confirm the top speed that they have reached in a Maruti Zen? Stock Or modified please do specify, if mod then what mods have been done.

Well lets talk about stock speedo here.....
the car crosses the limit of 160 on the speedo...
for anything more you got to change the speedo first!

the zen top speed is 145 ..anything above that is an error..

Hey, I wonder why u say that !! I've overtaken my GTX in the zen and the Palio was doing 150 , so that means the zen does cross 145 unless u saying that the GTX speedo reading was also an error !!

Hey, 1st statement -- U guessed right ... lol: and as for teh GTX top speed -- its 175 at present but it has seen 180+ in the earlier stage !! Have compromised on the top end to increase the mid range ..

sorry guys made a typo...the zen top whack is a 155k's

have crossed 160kmph (speedo).

well we are still trying to figure out the max speed of a stock zen bcoz as of now the needle is going way past the 160 kmph and virtually keeps bouncing of at a point where logically if the speedo existed it would look like 170 kmph ..

Have done 200+ in a 1.3l twin cam modified zen with a esteem speedo console on the mumbai poona expressway. The needle was all the way down and still kept on going. Had 175/65/13 tyres.

i have seen mclarens stock zen do 160 kph on the speedo,amitoj's carb zen also does 150+ on the speedo....icemans e-zen had done 200 with 14 inch tires

I am sure to cross 200 a zen will need to be well modified in the body/construction dept as well. Otherwise at such high speeds zen will have a high chance of drifting off and then thrown up. IMHO a stock zen should be good for a 150-160 max (which itself is pretty high for the small and lightweight zen). :)
