Is Renault going to market their cars seperately now? What is the current Mahindra-Renault tie-up status? I thought Mahindra completely bought(or major stake) Renaults stake in the joint venture, am I wrong?

Mahindra-Renault tie up got broke about few months back, now Renault is trying their chance alone though factory in Chennai is build with their long time partner Nissan.

Re: Renault India website is up and running

At least they should post pics having Indian registration plates. Now this makes it quite obvious, they have picked the templates from already running website elsewhere and just pasted into the Indian site.
If they are too occupied to make that effort better take rest and shut the site down.
I can always see the foreign model cars in auto mags, what we are interested is how the indian make one looks..

I dont think Renault is alone. I believe they are in a joint venture with Nissan: something like Renault-Nissan Auto India.

Renault-Nissan is the name of the company globally, not just in India

It's like Skoda and VW. Production at the same chennai plant but different sales and marketing plans/ showrooms.

Skoda is a wholly owned subsidiary of VW while Renault and Nissan share alliance technically. Renault does have a Controlling stake of 40+% in Nissan compared to Nissan's 10% in Renault but they are still partners.

But the Renault Nissan entity is a 50-50 partnership. So Just like Skoda and VW platform sharing, Renault Nissan entity will use platform sharing and is their first plant globally. Daimler AG has also entered the Renault Nissan B.V. entity albeit with a minor stake.

The Fluence and Koleos, if I am not mistaken are based on the same platform as the X-trail and Teana

Fluence and Teana are definitely not on the same platform. Teana has the old Nissan D-platform, while Fluence is from the newer Renault-Nissan C-platform. Fluence in itself is a smaller car than Teana

Re: Renault India website is up and running

I always thought , a common nissan - renault dealership would prove more economical for the company . But after watching the tata - fiat scenario , its better they sell cars separately !

No Clio yet. Though Supermini's haven't fared well in India, Renault should definately give it a shot.
