Their union leaders are into some of the boardrooms to take decisions with the board of directors. That's workers participation in management ! If the right methodologies are followed while adapting such practices, it could be a very cordial way out and the way to go. Overall, its a healthy practice by the trade unions to understand the pulse of their company during the presently tough times.

Hopefully, auto trade unions can emulate Mr Dilip Pawar, 62, an unassuming but powerful trade union leader, who leads the Shramik Ekta Mahasangh that represents 60 trade unions including those in companies including Bajaj Auto, VW, General Motors, M&M, in the Pune-Chakan belt of Maharashtra.
