The 40th K1000 Rally, 2014

The Karnataka MotorSports Club (KMSC) proudly brings back the historic K1000 rally for the 40th time.

It is the longest running Motorsports rally in India and also the 5th round of the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC).

The ceremonial start/flag off is at Orioin Mall, Bangalore at 5 pm today, the 21st of November.

It is then followed by the Spectator Special Stage (SSS) at BIEC off Tukur Road at 7pm.

The rally stages starts off on the 22nd and 23rd at Doddaguni, Tumkur.

I've attached the posters for the same.

Please conact Sharan on +91 8971957000 for further information.

Will post more images soon. See you fellow motorsport enthusiasts there.

There were a few incidents, but thankfully nothing too serious. Overall it was a great event and the legend, Mr. Gaurav Gill, had a lead of about a minute in the stages. One hell of a driver..!

And finally I found a video of the rally on YouTube. Credits go to Mr. Ashok Tiwari and Auto Track for shooting and compiling the video.

Without further due. Here it is:

Yup they walked out without a scratch. In fact none of the drivers got hurt. There was just one incident where two spectators got bruised cause they were standing way too close to a jump even after being warned multiple times. Last I heard one of them got a few stitches on the head and the other a swollen leg.

From what I could figure out injuries for the woman was on the higher side. When the message came on the wireless, I thought it would be those poor "illiterate" villagers. Villagers were much more street smart than the intelligent folks from Bangalore. Both victims were from Bangalore and had chosen a very wrong place to try taking pictures.

The round on Sunday, also I feel did not go on very well :(. The "India Mines" stage was scrapped all together. A car topped in the Alpha Stage, and in Beta Stage a car got stuck up blocking the entire roads. Around 7 cars got piled up. Soon I guess it was decided to call it a day and all the 7 cars were escorted back to the Service park.

I'm sorry I don't think I could assist you on that.. But what I can do is advice you to go to either RRP or GT Tuners.. They were the ones who did most of the cars in the rally.. Just google or Facebook either of them and you can get in touch directly with them.. Hope this helps
