Yet another Drag event coming up next month this time at Taneja Aerospace and Aviation Limited,Hosur. It is a much better place for the drag race !

Good to see some action in the Motorsport scene in Bangalore !

Awesome. Good to see Drag Racing grow. But I didn't understand the line - "it's a much better place for drag race". Much better place than where? Should avoid comparisons, as a friendly suggestion.

Hey Mate, Sorry I didn't mean to compare this airstrip with any other in India at all and my comparison is not beyond Bangalore.

The reason why I said that the Taneja Airstrip is much better is because it is much wider and can handle Airbus compared to the Jakkur airfield(where the earlier drag race was conducted). Comparison all in good spirit..Cheers!

I attended the event on Sunday and for some reason the event did not kick start at the said time and started only by 11:30AM and went on till 6:45PM or so, it got quite dark !

About the event..There were Brands like Mercedes,BMW,Benelli,Indian Motorcycle etc which had their Cars and Bikes on display! Mercedes had CLA,G63AMG & C63AMG on display while C63AMG was being used as safety car!

BMW had M3 on display which looked quite nice!

Talking about the competitors of the event, needless to say there were loads of Superbikes to name a few there was Ninja H2,BMW HP4,S1000RR,Hayabusas,R1s,ZX14R,Nightrod etc!

Coming to cars I was expecting quite a few Supercars to turn up this time but only few turned up! There were cars like Nissan GTR,AudiRS7,Nissan 370Z,Toyota Supra,Jaguar XF-R. There was an EVO and BMW 6 series as visitors and oh I missed mentioning that there was Pratap's Reva with Hayabusa engine as well which participated at the event!

Overall it was a nice event and good to see some action happening on the Motorsport side in Bangalore and Huge

to the organizers of the event, it takes a lot of effort to organize such event! Looking forward to see more such events happening in Bangalore.

Few clicks taken by me. I didn't bother with too many snaps since I used my eyes to soak it in all.

I was there by past ten on Sunday and the event started only by 11.45 or so. I was waiting for the 4 wheeler races but it was delayed and began by 3pm or so.
Must say the officials and organizers tried to keep time , but some participants I felt delayed since they did not report on time at the start line.

The location was just perfect. It was just like an international drag scene. The whole runway was divided in two with one half which was cordoned off for the drag and the approach and other half used for displays and parking and of course doing un-officials drags.

There were stalls selling stuff from small performance parts to clothes and accessories. Oakley, Ironman , Sparco to name a few.

Good set up for food as well which included few food trucks and stalls .

I was disappointed since I could not watch the super cars and few others classes race since I cleared out by 4p mainly to escape the return traffic and chaos and to catch the Monaco F1 GP as well.

All in all it was well managed, but also got annoyed since the locals in the area had free access to the track side when few like me had paid a good amount and got in.
Also before the races could begin, few smart support crew were asking us to clear one side of the track side view area and move to the opposite. They had barricaded just half the section and did not let any one further which did make sense, but could not understand the point of moving the crowd, which was not much anyway, from one side to the other. That didn't happen anyway.

The entertaining part was the pace cars escorting the race cars back to the start line from the finish and then taking off back to the finish on the drag strip. The pace cars- C63 AMG and the Mini Cooper had exhaust notes to die for. I wish the G63 was used too.
