You beat me to posting this .... I feel the organisers need to change the dates a bit for this event from next year . Maybe pre pone the event to mid Sept when chances of snow are much lower and therefore allow the event to run without any weather problems .

Suresh Rana was again at his best at this edition of the Raid ... seems he's really tough to beat in his own back yard

Cheers

You mean advance the dates, right ? That would certainly do a lot of good for the participants as well as the organisers.

Typically, it starts snowing in Baralacha La in the first week of October, often as early as Oct 1. When I did my Ladakh drive in 2004, I drove up Baralacha La on Oct 2 and it was snowing. Chang La also had 1-2 feet snow. The Raid that year too ran into difficulties (second week of October) and had to be cancelled. Does not make sense to have a rally in such conditions, best to prepone to Sep 15 week onwards when conditions are dry.

I think they have started too late this time..

Sep it will start snowing & will be very dangerous to drive at this point of time.
