Maruti Suzuki Autocross 2005: Feb 26th/27th - Delhi

Feb 11, 12 and 13 in noida... its autocross time! as usual, its a maruti only event alongwith our friendly organizers northern motorsport. if there are any t-bhpians wanting to participate they can always pm me. otherwise just drop by to have a look, its always good fun.

I've participated the last 3 times in my carb esteem - 14th, 18th and 17th...

was thinking of taking my spanking new baleno but maybe it's not such a good idea so might take out my old esteem for one last ride.

I'll be going to Motorcraft to pick up my esteem tom so I'll have a word with Mr Jayesh Desai.

Only Maruti cars are allowed (other makes were allowed in 2002), classes IIRC are :

800cc
<1000cc
<1300cc
<1600cc
Gypsy
Women's

(I might be wrong about the above)

It's a twin / parallel dirt track - one dip and one bridge - the tracks cross over. Cars start together on different sections - I'll see if I can dig up an old drawing of the track from 2 years back) - 2 laps (one lap is covering both the sections of the track) of maybe 1.5-2 Km each. (like a Mobius strip ?)

The entrants range from average joes like me to RdH winners to N.Leelakrishnan and Vijayant Chaudhary of Team MRF (in 2002 my final 16 race was with V.Chaudhary - I lost

)
There were maybe 70 odd entrants in the 1300 category last year.
Good fun all around, the cars are supposed to be stock but many aren't , dirt tyres are used by the serious chaps and pros (JK Ultima XR 175/70R13 or an MRF one ), you need to have a helmet - entry fee last year was Rs1100 plus 500 more for the FMSCI/MAI license .

zaphod, surprising we havent met before, im around everytime too, i guess this time we will get together and burn some serious rubber i plan to put my '98 carb esteem in as well.

Guys, I just dont believe my luck .... !! I've been waiting fo this event for the past one year as this year I was planning on giving the big guys a shock but crazy me is headed to goa on that frigging week end !!! I just dont believe my luck .... It cant get wose than this I guess ...

Last yea I was 4th in the esteem category and that too in a stock esteem ... this time I was eady with a souped up esteem !! Holy cow, feel like pulling my hair out ..lol .. Anyways guys have fun , get loads of pics though !!

shame about that but considering your results last year, it gives more hope to me that i qualify for the final 16 again

It will be happening at the Noida Stadium, i dont remember exactly which sector it is in but its the road that goes in next to the Indian Oil building.
