I had a great time. Thanks to Manek for giving me a ride in his pocket rocket. Some pics from yesterday....
some more pics. I like the pic i took of neoranjit's SX4.
We should plan a big "Track Day" meet. If yesterday was any yardstick, then a huge meet with a variety of cars and events should be a 'blast'!.Another set of pics for you guys. I do have more...
The evening ended like all evenings must. At a bar. More pics of that later.

Nice images Saiyan. However I love to have some sense of action in the images though I freeze action at times. I have edited the images with some help from my brother to add some action. Sorry for not taking permission before editing. |
Nice work :), i tried to do like that , but didn't come out properly and i was lazy as well hehe. Thanks
@ nickatnite, very good pics .

My passenger neoranjit timed me at 2.32 on the full circuit. The gypsy was fun, underpowered and behaved in an impeccable manner. I'd never expected that it would turn out to be like that.

That infact is a very fast lap for a Gypsy. When i was sitting in one of the fellow bhpian's Swift, i timed him at 2.31 (He later went on to post a 2.28 without passengers).
Your average speed around that track was 87.6kmph. I think you could have gone a lot quicker without any passengers.

Yeah..I really wasnt pushing as I had not so good rear tyres. I dont know about the average though..an average of 87.6 kmph sounds pretty fast..How did you calculate the average?

2.32 = 152secs. Track lenght 3.7kms. 1hr = 3600secs
3.7 x 3600 / 152 = 87.63kmph

Couple of quick points
1. Caps is equal to shouting on the forum. You don't need to do so.
2. Good that the temp needle didn't go up, that point was made by me as per personal experience turbo cars and it was not meant for NA cars.
3. I am glad you all enjoyed your time there and let it be that way instead of pointing fingers and making it personal.
ps: have been on the track enough times and have seen more than enough to warrant an opinion of my own and the best part I never even did put it on the thread. I believe in being safe tthan sorry.
Nice set of pics there. |
@ Psycho / Keshav,
Thanks for your inputs..its just that some of us are LOUD:
1. Sorry did not mean to shout..just state my experience clearly.
2. Point noted and my point stated.
3. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone..just had a blast and was remembering something about temp needles going up and all..infact i do not go personally against anyone as we all have our own experiences and judgement to make. And the funny part was more than 2 friends popped in into my vehicle as soon as I entered the pits after the first stint of 5 laps..I even told them my opinion about the temp gauge..Hence just remembered and posted.
I agree, there are many of you out there are more experienced and have been on track many times..but that does not mean, the lesser experienced ones cant have opinions.
Again, I am not interested in pointing fingers at anyone..Just had a blast, it would have been more fun if we had more vehicles as Nickatnite had suggested.
Anyways..theres always a next time.

Thank you my friend, that was quick and easy learning.

Well had a blast. My first time on track so was messing up the lines and stuff but still had awesome fun throwing the Cedia around the corners and hearing the tyres squeal. Tyre wear was much less than I had expected it would be. I don't think i need to be worried too much from next time.
Thanks to Rahul (mclaren) for teaching me the basics and also to n_aditya who offered to as well. I ran off the track once chasing the elantra but managed to stick around on track otherwise :-). I timed Rahulkool's palio (red one) and he did a 2:35. I think bottle timed me once and it was a 2:30 odd as well.
Had a good time at the track! Had a nice time riding as passenger in the Cedia and the palio. My first real experience in being a fast car! :D
Really looking forward for more trackday meets :)
Very nice event & great pictures too! You guys fancy holding one in June if possible?? And who was the "bright" man who got his Safari to the track day??
Headers, can't you run him over with your Gypsy?? :)
