Assuming that this is the Juhu airstrip.
Autocar was actually planning a drag event there in Dec 2004, under floodlights.
That would have really been great in the cool of december.
However, im not quite sure why that didnt work out.


Please post your opinion on entry fees to speedrun as a possible solution in this poll

Because they do not give out the airstrip for speed events anymore.

wow it would make a great event under the floodlights...if the races are not allowed on the airstrips..they should look at other options like palm beach road in new bombay or maybe kharghar...the cidco authorities will defenitely be intrested as it would promote navi mumbai...or maybe they shud get ppl like mr singhania and other big shots and make a professional drag strip some where in the outskirts.

naw....the goverment will never allow the airstrip for drags......

even if they do u can bet on it that its gonna be a money making scene.....

the run05 was exciting as well as irratating......

first of all recklamation is just a linkage road off the highway....

its 6 lanes....where the hell do u expect people to stand and watch the drag.....

since both sides are closed to the public......

what they could do next year is have the race in vashi...

near the new airport side.....just a suggestion.....

this year was more like a show based event just for peopl to see the cars......

by looks and stlye........not power and performance.............

the blue civic type r was a beauty.........

hope its better next year because both vance and me should have our cars in racing......

condition by that time.......heheh...........no but to speak seriuosly on behalf of everyone(car Freaks).......

it should be organised more differently.......

talkin abt the crowd mis-management n ppl runnin onto the tracks.....
some of the cars actually had to "HONK" as they neared the finish...wtf??!!

you talkinga bout public. i crossed the finish line and was really fast over it and had to slow down but the damn turn was there and could not brake much on it and i knew i had to go straight and then take a u turn. but the damn gaurd with the flag came in my way trying to tell me to stop and go over the ramp to get to the other side and i had to actually honk and wave my hand at him to move and still he dint move so i went straight into him and he ran and then realized that i was going straight and then taknig a u turn.

man... thats something.... n there were ppl crossing the sensors @ the finish line....
the guard was really helpless there...!!!n somwat of a lathi charge by the police on sunday really sucked!!!! :mad:

someone should redirect our john bhau to http://www.rotten.com and show him the pic of the guy that had an accident and wasnt wearing a helmet... that would probably stop him from riding without one ever again.... I know it made me change my views on not wearing a helmet and riding...

True after all it was the helmet which saved Karan's life from that Busa crash too. See the remains of the bike and u'll know what I mean
