@ doomsday if u dont mind can u tell us or PM me which media house u work with ? i havnt come around any bangalore based media house that focuses on motoring . please let me know if there are any bangalore based media houses that cover the same .

I think the prize money for the open class is good . anyway most of the time the fastest and the most expensive builds win the open class so this is good encouragement to see the fastest bikes and cars in atleast south india . however prize money was never the perogative , beggars arnt choosers .

why dont u guys communicate ur grieviences to the organizers so that there can be a solution to the problems and people can move on and we can have better events ?

and for all us blore boys bitching and complaining ( cas we got the largest number of outsider entries and the fastest cars and bikes :D ) why can we not seem to arrange a single drag racing event in blore dispite successive govt. changes and a huge number of powerful lobbies for motorsports since the past 6 years !! weve got the tuners , weve got the cars and bikes and weve got the best riders ! all we need is a place !! its funny when places like chennai and CBE have race tracks , hyd and bombay have drags happening twice a year but blore has NOTHING happening for it . Why doesnt the media ever cover this instead of blaming rash driving and accidents and blaming them on ' drag racer ' ! Why dont they highlight the fact that those guys arnt real drag racers and real drag racers dont have any events to show case their talent anyway ! Its funny that we have a F1 team owner by a guy who stays in Bangalore but we dont have any events or even a venue to showcase our motorsport talent . Wake up Vijay Mallaya

Secondly, the Vtec will NOT come in your category if your engine is anything below 1451cc. As the class is 1151-1451cc and the Vtec is 1493cc

Lastly, with no offence to anyone, no matter how good a launch you get, it is close to impossible for a stock Swift to beat a Stock Vtec in a Quartermile. (Not saying this because I own one, just saying it as it is common sense, as the latter has a bigger and a more powerfull engine)

Well i guess there are always exceptions, Not too long ago i saw a Zen 1.6 actually place above a NISSAN GTR.........funny aint it? Point is: there are a lot of factors that influence a run- ET, RT, car setup, driver capabilities, equipment etc. so if all these factors were constant (which is very unlikely) then probably a swift could never beat a Honda.

you are spot on. bangalore does have all that it takes for a perfect showdown in motorsports but where the hell is the racetrack!! hope Somebody wakes up real soon. With Dr Mallya neck deep in debts (owing to kingfisher airlines) can't expect much from him though.

yes your right about the ferrari driver not able to get the perfect launch, because the car and driver magazine people recorded it to do a 0-100km/hr in 3.6 secs! so i dont know if it could beat the supra or no but it sure does have enough horses to give competetion to the supra!

I can see the VR38-DETT in one of the pics, so guess the GT-R did make it there. Is the owner racing it or is it still runnin' in??stupid: The Supra should also be there though its not in the pics.

Also spotted Akhil Khushlani in one of the pics- star driver for RRR in the F-BMW Asia-Pacific.

Yes, a few of the Hyd TBHPians will be at the Drag race tomorrow i.e. 21st June. We might roll in a little late - say around 10.30 and might hang around till about 4.00 p.m.

LOL Nazim, why not tell him to look for the Zen that is the centrepiece of most of your photos - yes .....the Zen with the smoked lights, yellow racing stripes and orange alloys and it's stable mate - the Octavia (again with orange alloys). It is entered as no.6. In addition to the cameras you might look for a bunch of guys who seem intent on eating / drinking all the time! We come in all shapes and sizes (and ages too).
