Go-Karting RACE at Torq03 (Bangalore)

Hey Guys,

I am proposing a Go-karting event at Torq03 (Bangalore)
We can go through a full race format with Qualifiers, Eliminations and Final Race.

Date – 2nd July 2009, Thursday
Time – 7.30 PM to 10.30 PM (Night race)

This way we don’t have go with the crowd, it was would a dedicated night race for us. I have spoken to the Torq folks, they have promised special rates for us.

Since we are planning to go with a race format, we need a good number of participants. Think of it as a cheap track day without the fuss of going to Chennai or CBE.

You can get your family as well. It would be a good spectator event as well. I am sure we can make this a successful event. What say guys?

- You could wire transfer Rs. 600 to my Citibank account
- I will send in my account number in an e-mail. This confirmation amount would be very useful for me to make a confirmed booking at Torq

I am really looking forward towards your participation and enthusiasm for this event.

Mods: Please note, that I do not belong to Torq. Nor am I intending to make a profit out of this event. The intention of this event is to attract as many participants as possible.

This event is extremely spectator friendly, I am hoping to see families welcoming this option as well.

You can refer Torq03 - Gokarting for more details on the venue.

It is a good track, with good possibilities on overtaking both on braking and acceleration. I have personally checked the lights during the night. It is would be a good experience.

Weekend was the intial plan. But then there are folks who have family commitments. The track also stays very busy during the weekends, Getting exclusive access becomes a pain as well. Thats the reason, we are holding it on a Thursday.

Yesterday I had been to Torq03. Once thing I really not like was the track. It is very uneven and the guy who manage all this not good in calculation at all.
He need to learn few mathematics lesson. At the time of billing they simply demanding 500 Rs extra for our Race Event, he was saying he committed mistake.

Be careful guys with the charges they promise and at the time of payment.

I guess with such a poor response!!!
It is not even going to generate half the attendance of a quick meet.

I thought we had some racers at heart. Looks like its only Racers at talk.
The so called event would have to be cancelled.

Guys!!! The event on July 2nd stands cancelled.

Or Should we postpone this to a better date, How about 23rd July 2009?
I will also post it in Orkut and other sites and see if we get a better response.

The other formalities will be the same. We will be running this in a complete race format.

- This is to ensure we have maximum participation
- Engineering exams would be done by then
- Everyone else can plan their ONE evening for this event
- Its been a while since we have had such an event
