Hi,

Anybody from Bangalore participating in "MARUTI SUZUKI DAKSHIN DARE RALLY"? This is scheduled from 1st December 2009. The details are available at Welcome :: Motor Sport INC. co.in. Being an novice, want to participate as Co-Driver for this time. Anybody looking for co-driver, please let me know. I am interested in participating.

Ok rally buffs, it is time to 'MARUTI SUZUKI DAKSHIN DARE 2010'.

Source (http://www.rally.co.in/rally-f2/maruti-suzuki-dakshin-dare-2010-t3090.html), as it says that it is expected in the month of June 2010. Hopefully it will be as (or more) exciting as it had happened for the first time last year. Thankfully we get to hear about it well in advance.

Whoever is going to participate, keep yourself & your car tidy & ready. I will atleast try to make it up to witness & probably photo/videograph the event ;-)

Hey guys, I was very keen in competing in this event & I am IN! I will be doing 2 wheeler category in Group D (stock class) in 4S 80cc to 150cc in my pulsar 150 dtsi (UG2).

Need help & support on few technical grounds. I need to know the best tires for the 60% tarmac, 40% dirt/gravel (probably on wet/dry, due to monsoon). I also want advice on the best kind of engine oils, fuels, additives, spark plugs, & anything that would be fine. I am also planning to fix a cheap on-board video camera custom fixed to take some action videos.

Please help!!

@tantragna,

I think it would be better if you post your queries in the motorbikes section. They will know better.

Also would suggest to check the regulations on fixing a camera. I mean location and technical regs, etc. etc. Check with the organisers or the local motorsports club.

Make sure your bike has been tested on similar surfaces before you go for the rally.

Good to see you in the Rally !!

The tyres - original diameter must be retained
Tyre width may be changed
Spokes / rims may be changed

Not sure about the rules for the Camera but may not be an issue. I suggest you use the PEN camera - will record for 6hrs with built-in 8GB memory. Other cameras are a pain to fix, record etc.,

I was a Marshall for the TSD part of the Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare Rally from 8th to 13th June 2010.

The Rally was a 6-day multi-leg event starting from Bangalore -Mysore-Ooty-Coimbatore-Munnar-Cochin covering about 2000kms of the most challenging and diverse routes possible in the 3 southern states of Karnataka, Tamilnadu & Kerala.
