The Motor Expo at Canary Wharf, typically, is targeted more towards realistic cars by semi-premium/premium brands that people in the surrounding financial and residential neighbourhoods can afford. It's never overly adorned with hypercars, as that's not really the agenda here. The LF-A is a welcome surprise though!

Re: In Pictures - Motor Expo @ Canary Wharf, London

AarEmm, hope you won't mind if I contribute to this thread. I will cover the electric cars section which you have missed out.

Electric cars are getting popular in this era due to increasing gas prices and due to the need to curb the gas emissions. Several governments have established policies and economic incentives to promote the sales of electric cars, and to fund further development of electric vehicles. This should translate to cost-effective battery technology and their components. For example, UK government provide 'Plug in car grant' worth GBP 5000 on these cars, hencing making them a bit affordable to the public.

Our own brand REVA has a good success in Europe and UK. And we all understand why M&M was interested in taking ownership of REVA. Its quite simple, these cars will be THE FUTURE of the industry.

Coming back to the topic, I got opportunity to have a look at some of these cars/technology in this motor expo. I wish I could test drive them but it was not offered.

1) Nissan Leaf : Leaf stand for Leading, Environmentally friendly, Affordable, Family car. On my first look, my impression was - Wow, this car is big. Most of the electric production cars I have seen were small cars like REVA or Nano shape. But this one is quite big.

The car shown has following features/specs:-
  • 80 KW power
  • Torque : 280 Nm at 0-2730 rpm
  • Vehicle range : 109 miles
  • Max speed : 90 mph
  • Length : 4445 mm, width : 1770 mm, Height : 1550mm
  • 7'' Color LCD touch screen showing reachable charging point stations, Temp control by PC or mobile phone, Charging start and monitoring by PC or mobile phone , and a lot other info
  • Price: starts at GBP 25, 990 includes GBP 5000 Govt scheme

Nice blue color LEAF. Notice the Nissan logo in blue theme.

A tinge of blue in ICE and speedometers

Touch screen showing reachable nearest charging point station. A must have feature for these cars

2) Mitsubishi i MiEV : MiEV stands for Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle . It's a very cute car much like NANO and already a hit, at least on the papers.

The car shown has following features/specs:-
  • 49 KW power
  • Torque : 180 Nm 0-2000 rpm
  • Vehicle range : 93 miles
  • Max speed : 81 mph
  • Length : 3475 mm, width : 1475 mm, Height : 1610 mm
  • Detailed technology at their website
  • Price: starts at GBP 23, 990 includes GBP 5000 Govt scheme

3) Citroën C-ZERO : C-Zero is french version of Mitsubishi i MiEV. It's result of partnership between PSA (Peugeot Citroën) and Mitsubishi. Peugeot market the same car with name Peugeot iOn.

It look awesome in red color. Though it is same car as i MiEV.
