The supercar of supercars, the Bugatti Veyron is up for a new model. Meet the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Super Sport. The Grand Sport is as you might know the roadster version of the Veyron, and the Super Sport is the climax of the Veyron with its monstrous 1200 horsepower. And now the team behind Bugatti, with Wolfgang Durheimer at the top, has combined those two models into a Veyron Grand Sport Super Sport as these photos show. Not only do they show this new model, it’s also almost totally uncamoflaged. Just some smaller parts on the front bumper are covered up. As we can see the NACA air ducs that usually are on the Super Sport model have been changed for the normal Grand Sport air intakes due to the fact that the NACA air ducs will not work with the roof removed. Bugatti boss Wolfgang Durheimer said some days ago that a more powerful version of the Grand Sport could be possible, but we guess he didn’t expect us to prove that with photos so quick. |

^^ NACA air ducts are, you could say "NASA air ducts". NACA was the NASA of yesteryears. You'll find this design of duct on most modern aircrafts. cya R PS - Wow Bugatti is really getting creative with their naming! I wonder when they will launch the Grand Super Sport Pur Sang Noir... :p |

or how about the Grand Super Sport Pur Sang Noir Club Sport ! :P. anyhoo an automatic metal folding hard top eh ? I wonder how much weight will this add on to the car and if so have they done anything to make up for the performance loss via additional weight. |

As I told in my initial post, Veyron Grand Sport and this Grand Super Sport is having a retractable hardtop not a folding one. See.. Attachment 599977 So what happens you're driving without the roof and it rains, use the square umbrella Bugatti gives you which can keep both you and the interiors dry :D Attachment 599978 |

Oh retractable doesn't mean folding mechanism. I see...Ah too bad. Where do you put the roof if you decide to go open top in the middle of nowhere ? Enough storage in the boot ? or I guess the front :P ? |

Nowhere, Bugatti gives you a stand to hook up the roof onto which will neatly be tucked away in your garage :) |
A Bugatti test group had an outing recently and our intrepid spy photographers were on hand to get a peek at the action. This Veyron spied here, dressed in white, is believed to be a Super Sport edition of the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport (convertible variant), due to the disguised bumpers which are similar to the Veyron Super Sport but with the large, fixed air intakes from the Grand Sport. A couple of weeks ago, we reported on the possibility of a power-boosted Grand Sport. Bugatti President Wolfgang Durheimer hinted then that the new edition could come with more power than the standard Veyron's 1,001 PS (736 kW / 987 hp) and 1,250 Nm of torque (922 lb-ft) but less than the 1,200-PS (882 kW) and 1,500 Nm (1106 lb-ft) of torque on the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. What we see here is apparently some combination of the two. We await further details. |
Bugatti has announced the world premiere of the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse will take place at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6. Confirming previous reports, the Grand Sport Vitesse is essentially a mix between the two Veyron variants: the Grand Sport (roadster) and Super Sport. The Grand Sport Vitesse features the body structure of the Grand Sport while the visual appearance and performance of the Super Sport, which holds the current world speed record of 431km/h (268mph), is wrapped into one. The Veyron Grand Sport roadster normally outputs 1,001HP (736kW / 987hp) and 1,250Nm (922lb-ft) torque, but in Vitesse dress it boasts the Super Sports muscle with 1,200HP (883kW / 1,184hp) and 1,500Nm (1,106lb-ft) of torque. Just like the Super Sport, the increased power of the new roadster's 16-cylinder engine is accomplished with four enlarged turbos and intercoolers. The chassis has also been modified to support the extra power. "The rapid success of the Super Sport convinced us to increase the performance of the Bugatti roadster. Once again our engineers worked hard to demonstrate that Bugatti is able to constantly redefine the boundaries of what is technically feasible," says Bugatti President Wolfgang Dürheimer in a press statement. "We gave our all to transfer the achievements of the Super Sport over to the Grand Sport, thereby turning open-top driving itself into an extraordinary experience at high speed." |

:O :O That car is going to be crazy!!! 1.2kHP! I wonder why Bugatti keeps making new versions! They really do not need to do all this. What they have done is truly remarkable. They are definitely pioneering the auto industry. |
