Funny that govts and RTOs worldwide have no issues offering driving licenses to morons who can make a vehicle more lethal than a sword or a gun.

But they have issues with automated computerized system that would make roads safer.

Re: Driverless car navigates Berlin streets

They were showing this car in The Gadget Show: World Tour yesterday on Discovery Science. pretty good considering what it can do. it uses a military grade GPS system which can provide location with an accuracy up to 10cm.

in dense traffic it got a bit flustered and the human driver had to take control. however, at the airport (wide open space), it didn't have any problems. you could control it real-time using an iPad

Re: Driverless car navigates Berlin streets

they should first check these cars in Indian cities for a reality check. I still think in Europe and USA they actually follow traffic rules by driving(with ease), while we in India are actually doing the manoeuvring bit in driving through all the random vehicles coming on wrong side and pedestrians crossing without caring for traffic - and ofcourse Cows!. nothing to brag about, but driverless cars must pass the 'Indian standard'.
