SPOTTED: Spy pics of Jag XF Estate

Just saw this on the Autocar UK website. They call it the Jaguar XF "Sport Brake"

Seemed a bit awkward at first, because even in the UK and Europe, Jags arent considered to be workhorses, wonder what kind of market they are targetting with the station-wagon? Rich Mums already drive Land rovers, and anyone looking for true workhorses across the UK usually buys through their company and almost always its either a Merc E wagon or an Audi A6 wagon.
Although this model would never make it to India, it just further shows how Jaguar is trying to emulate the Germans for a larger pie of the market.

P.S Is a Jaguar XF SAV next (5 Series GT)?

Note to Mods: Don't know whether this would be a suitable post for this thread?

Re: Jaguar XF Facelift has reached the Mumbai dealer; to be launched in December 2011

Even the old, failed X-Type sedan had an estate version. But I must admit this will end up looking a bit wonky, because we're are so ,so used to those timeless XF lines!

I agree with Ayan! on this. The curves of the XF shouldn't be messed with. Besides, for large wagons, why would anyone look beyond a Volvo or the German trio is beyond me. That said, I adore the wheel design on this test mule!

Why jaguar ? Why make such a beautiful car and then do this to it ??

As it has been rightly stated by shamik.bose if one is in the market for an estate then Volvo makes the perfect sense .

All i hope for is that in reality it looks better than it does with the camouflage .

The sportbrake is probably one the best looking cars, sedans considered, to hit the roads in Europe in recent times. Just goes to that show basic clean lines can turn heads and that understated elegance can be a vital design element. There is fairly good demand in West European markets like Germany for estates with decent performance. I see more 5 series\E class estates than sedans out here.
