I hope Fiat ends its tie up with Tata. They have pretty decent cars let down by the horrible reputation of Tata A.S.S.

Re: Fiat-Chrysler mulling tie-up with Peugeot

I think this is to achieve the Marchionne's goal of 5.9m units for 2014 and he is even considering lowering it down to 5.7mil. AFAIK They are open for a third partner to compete i the global/euro level, don't think this will bring anything to Indian shores.

They have to end the alliance and not provide the engines to TATA to make things better in India.

Possible alliance between GM and PSA Peugeot Citroen.

"Automotive News is reporting that stories in two other papers, France's La Tribune and England's The Financial Times, assert that General Motors and PSA Peugeot Citroën are "in advanced talks about an alliance." Neither maker would comment on the stories, but it has been well documented that both are looking to turn around their European operations."

Re: Fiat sees Suzuki as first choice's partner to form alliance!

If this comes anywhere close to reality, it will be a major boost in the arm for Fiat in India. At present their JV with Tata is a big mess. It will also mean that Fiat could get far more involved in the small car market and they do have some brilliant products that fit in there but are not being brought in at present due to the CBD taxation and the fact that their present set up is bad (thanks to Tata giving them step motherly treatment)

The words quote:first choice's :unquote is slightly misleading at first look. I feel the thread name needs some tweaking; perhaps.

Very interesting indeed. What will be the consequences of such a tie-up on the JV with Tata? Actually, a threesome is possible too and the JV with Tata can continue uninterrupted.

Re: Fiat sees Suzuki as first choice's partner to form alliance!

Suzuki getting diesel engines from FIAT (at cheaper prices than at present).

FIAT getting sales and service support from Suzuki.

This could be one deadly alliance that could really transform both companies in India. Moreover - internationally - both the companies could benefit from their expertise in small cars - and could have a lot of platform sharing in the future, if they work together.

Re: Fiat-Chrysler mulling tie-up with Peugeot. EDIT : Now, Suzuki & Mazda too!

Mazda-Suzuki JV now official; Ertiga to hatch into Mazda VX-1 in mid-May

Quote:
President and CEO of Mazda, Takashi Yamanouchi, has announced the alliance between Mazda and Suzuki in Japan during a corporate event late last month. Mazda Indonesia doesn’t have a compact MPV offering in its portfolio, so naturally the decision to badge engineer Suzuki Ertiga has come up.
