Re: 2014 BMW X5 - Leaked!

Though the exterior looks fell short of expectation, I just fell in love with the interiors. Oh man, the Ivory shade and uncluttered dash lay out is sexy !

Re: 2014 BMW X5 - Leaked!

Oh yes!
Looks are subjective I suppose, I find the front to be very attractive. The rear on the other hand quirky and appears to be 'unbalanced'. The interiors seem good as well.
I find this better of the Audi competitors and on par with Mercedes SUV facelifts. Audi seems to have gotten it right with their Sedan and sports car offerings but SUVs haven't hit the spot as far as looks are concered.

Re: 2014 BMW X5 - Leaked!

BMW really needs to innovate on the interiors, they are nearly identical across the range.

The new key fob is a welcome change. BMW keys looked most dated.

^ BMW does a side by side comparo of all 3 generations of the X5.

IMO after watching this video i am mighty impressed with the all new generation (F15) & video is surely worth a watch

Agreed! Looks like the temperature control display are still dotted red. It reminds me of Ford and GM vehicles with dotted green. I hope they change it to high resolution LED display. The good thing about BMW's are touch and feel. They are very functional and easy to use but looks matter! Also there's no sunglass holder on the top which annoyed me a lot.

I agree, when I saw the pics, the car looked like a mild evolution of the current one, but the F15 indeed have much more visual aura when compared side by side.
From the size, it looks like the car can accommodate the 3rd row better than the current X5.
Thanks for sharing this!

-------

The third-generation X5 is going to get some interesting engine options. Outside the regulars like xDrive 50i and 30d, some new engine options are expected by end of the year – a 306bhp xDrive35i, 313bhp xDrive40d, a 218bhp xDrive25d and the rear-wheel-drive sDrive25d.

IMO, the last one should be a good fit for India as most of the buyers will not really take a BMW SUV for off-roading, and the claimed mileage is around 4.67L/100km (converts to 20+ kmpl) – excellent for an SUV of this size/weight.

Thanks for sharing these lovely pictures Karan.!

Whoa! Did you look at those lovely spokes of the alloys in the M Sport version? Piston shaped and attractive. I hope BMW gains the lost market share with these new models.

I love those DRL's and Quad exhausts! Is it the angle the picture was taken from or the rear bumper; I see the whole rear axle and the gas tank visible!

Re: 2014 BMW X5 - Leaked!

Autocar UK’s first drive report of the 3rd generation X5 (xDrive 30d). It looks more like an elegant evolution from the outgoing model.

Re: 2014 BMW X5 - Leaked!

Why is BMW suddenly obsessed with having over-sized grilles on its cars? First it was the F01 7, and now this. They made an entire car that literally looks smaller from all sides than its predecessor and then attached 2 chrome warts on its face. And everyone called Bangle's design language bad.

Overall, the product seems good with really neat interiors (a first for an X5, i must say).
