Am amazed that people use a thread about VW introducing something new and unique to bash the organisation. VW must be praised for pushing the envelope of technology, and bringing high ended technology such as DSG gearboxes and TSI engines to mass market and even entry level cars. I have been a fan of Hondas, and was very satisfied with my 2004 New Honda City. But they have clearly failed to push the envelope on technology. VW cars are more complicated than the standard Japanese cars. That makes them better to drive, and gives much better performance per cubic cm than the Japanese products. But it comes with the risk of failures and high maintenance costs that arise when high end technology is provided to middle class car buyers.
