Skoda has pulled the wraps off of its new Rapid S Concept model today at the famous Volkswagen tuning event in Worthersee.
We’ll have to say that the Rapid S Concept looks way better under the sunlight (and a couple of sexy models) than in the renderings, giving the impression that it is ready to tackle a touring car championship at any moment.
The aggressive concept is basically the new Skoda Rapid that received a bodykit and some other fancy add-ons. It has redesigned front and rear bumpers, flared wheel arches and side skirts, as well as a rear diffuser and 19-inch rims to complete the racing look.
The exterior is painted in a two tone theme, full red being the predominant color. The interior still offers scarce details, but you can clearly see from the pictures that it will feature Recaro seats and Skoda said that it will also have a sport steering wheel and illuminated door sills.

wow this looks killer. I really loved the overall theme and the alloys. Do you have a rear profile of this car ?

I dread to post the pics given their size but you can find 6 pics in the link at the top. It looks good though the stripes take away the effect of the tail lamp clusters.
Doesn't this look too similar to the new octavia ? Though the badge on the rear number plate says Rapid Sport, but from both the angles, it looks exactly like the Octavia 2013 to me !!
Is skoda back with its ways of copying their own designs with little or no tweaking ?
That is one killer looking Skoda.
The car reminds me a lot about the 2013 Kia Optima sold in the USA.
I second everyone who thinks that this resembles the new Octavia slated for release very soon.
But, regardless of the model nomenclature, this indeed is one jaw dropping beauty which stays true to its word of being 'sporty'.

The kit looks killer, right from the aggressive front bumper to the flared wheel arches & to the rims :thumbs up
But id have one in a single color tone not dual.
Also gives us an idea of what to expect from the upcoming Octavia VRS :D
This is mind blowing!
But clearly, no chances of it being in India, since we don't even have the Rapid
Skoda , hope you are reading this!
Launch a real vRS car in India. Preferrably a Fabia with that suprcharged 1.4 TSI engine. could make for the first Hot Hatch with 170 bhp, could be reasonably affordable at about 10 lacs.

Guys check the rear window design with the pics of 2013 Octavia in the forum. They are different. No?
One hell of a looking car. Out of curiosity, how much would it cost to get at least that dual tone look on the exterior ?

Look at the flare VW is receiving with polo 1.2 TSi from some quarters. We are never satisfied. Btw, no offence, I would love to see such a hot hatch, but, would also love if people appreciate that model, as much as it deserves.

That is mostly because, even though it is not a proper enthusiast hot hatch, it still costs over 9L OTR in most places.C'mon 102 Bhp is about adequate. The 70-80 bhp ones are underpowered.
It has an auto' box that many of us Bhpians would be happy without.
I believe they should be able to launch a 1.4 TSi vRS(168 Bhp) for about 10 lacs, Interesting as to why it still isn't here when the Polo R Cup Car uses the very same engine and a DSG box(not the DQ200)
Alongwith ŠKODA Rapid SPORT, the GTI Meet also shows off ŠKODA Octavia Combi with a sports package, ŠKODA Citigo Motorsport, ŠKODA Fabia RS Motorsport – UK Edition , and rally racer ŠKODA Fabia S2000 also...

As of April this year Fabia sales have gone so low that Skoda sells fewer Fabias than Laura (and even fewer Yetis than Superb). Probably its time to take Fabia II off sales in India.
Czech auto site [
http://www.auto.cz/skoda-fabia-iii-v...-design-66193] had reported possibility of MQB based Fabia III launch by Spring next year. Skoda needs to bring this car to India sooner than later if the Fabia brand is to stay.
That site also lists some interesting comparison of Fabia TSI/RS with Polo TSI and other hatches.

But it still insn't official.
But the recently appointed new Skoda MD did cite the Fabia sales as a priority which will be dealt hopefully at an upcoming stage. He expressed intentions to rack it up to 7-8K cars per month!
