I understand Audi and Mercedes realized that the X6 created a new segment and they needed to offer cars in this body style but for god sakes, they are the pioneers in the industry and they should have an original design !

Exactly! Especially the rear end, screams out loud that this is made to compete X6 and X6 only! Merc seems to be going over the line trying to make their cars look aggressive. From hatchbacks to sedans to crossovers/mini SUVs, all have somewhat same face now. Their cars were elegant and I think they should stick to that design philosophy rather than being confused trying to over do it.

Mercedes may be copying the X6 but as a company that invented the 4 door coupé category in which BMW has two models right now, they can be forgiven. It's a business after all and if your competitor has a profitable product line, you can't ignore the market on ethical issues, if there are any.

The Mercedes version looks better to me, if we go on a copying accusation spree, Mercedes was in the luxury SUV segment before all the others, I'm not including land rover here. It proved that off-road credentials were unnecessary to profit from a customer fad, paving the way for the rest of the fence sitters.

Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled the GLE-Coupe SUV. While the model will make its public debut at the 2014 Detroit motor show, Mercedes-Benz has revealed certain key details along with the images.

While the design language at Mercedes is a lot better than BMW in my opinion. They just havent got it right with the GLE. The X6 is way better looking even today. So thats 1 point to BMW.....finally!

The GLE has some good engine options though...and massive 22inch wheels to go with it.

Following the reveal of the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe in December 2014, the German car maker has unveiled the GLE63 S Coupe. The performance spec GLE will be a direct rival to the BMW X6M.

Under the hood is AMG's 5.5-litre, V8 biturbo engine that makes around 577 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 760 Nm of torque at 1,750-5,250 rpm. Mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission that sends the power to all four wheels, the SUV does the 0-100 km/h sprint in a claimed 4.2 seconds.
